V-Day Blues

I've been single for about every V-day but one in my entire life. And it still depresses me.

But really, in all seriousness, I don't want to be depressed on this day. There's no reason for it.

If you're in a relationship, it's a great holiday. Yay for you guys. Have fun.

But if you're single, I don't think you should be forced to sit at home thinking about how you wish you weren't single just for this one stupid day.

Well thats not entirely true. Besides for about 2 weeks around V-day with everyone going nuts about their SO you find that suddenly you seem to have no friends around.

I don't know it just seems like another day where I feel like I should have a date and yet I don't. I'm just tired of being single on V-day about as much as I'm tired of being the only person over 20 going to a wedding by myself.

(BTW if anyone is curious the girl who cuts my hair did not show up to church yesterday)

Maybe? I can't remember anymore, I was just entranced by another post that you put in Share A Picture

Well, I was actually sort of thinking about this last night, yet in an indirect way of doing it. I was thinking about how we should really be content with the way things are because God wouldn't have it any other way... and if He were to have it any other way... well, logically, it would be some other way. We are single for a reason, and surely He has something wonderful planned for us, maybe even on Valentine's Day.

1 Tim. 6:6-8

6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

Heh... Be happy that you are alone on V-Day, I mean... it's not like you need to spend your money either way! At least I know that dinner will be cooked for me, hehe... gotta love having friends who are girls and are also rather anti-Valentine's day!

Wow. I've heard of people having V-day blues, but it's not even until next week.

Anyway, the best way to avoid them if you're not with friends is to not turn on the TV.

As Valentines day falls on a Thursday this year... I'm going to be sufficiently distracted with Survivor and LOST. W00t!

The only thing that will be problematic is watching everyone else at work get flowers delivered. Last year my mom gave me one of the two dozen red roses my dad sent her. [sarcasm]Yay![/sarcasm]

Honestly, though, I'm sooo used to being single on Valentines day that it doesn't really bother me anymore.

It's just like any other day. Don't be a sheep and get emotional 'cause you're single.

I don't have class on Thursdays, but I'll still have a ton of studying to do, plus I might work, work out, live my life.

I'm all for the happy medium. Don't go overboard with the sappy lovey stuff on that day (why??), yet don't be depressed or bitter either!

Don't let a made up day have any control or power over you!
