CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sorry Vene, you have to come just like everyone else. You believe first and then you see. I used to be open to change, until I met God and now I don't need to change. I know Him and the Word. I just need to go in that direction. I don't need to change anymore. I just need to grow in His Word and Spirit. I'm a new Creation.

when you say "we have come with a lot"... are you claiming scientific evidence here?
But if, as you seem to be acknowledging, that all the science DOES in fact, indicate evolution... why not acknowledge this as the case?

Yes, it is a scientific theory. One that has withstood over 150 years of attempted falsification. It is one of, if not the, most well evidenced theory in science.

I mean, I would expect some newbie creationist poster to make some such statement, but with the more seasoned posters ... Something should have sunken in by now. Or what am I missing?

Correct: science is a methodology, whilst evolution is a statistical phenomenon.
No. Evolution is a fact, since it is an observed phenomenon. Common descent is a theory (a well-evidenced one at that).

there is no such thing as a scientific "fact"... which is why, if we are intelectually honest, we refer to evolutionary "theory"... even though for all practical purposes, and in as much as anything can ever be "proven" in real world terms, evolution is as close to a fact as you can get.

Oh hell yes: if it wasn't for the stigma surrounding evolutionary theory, it would be as well accepted by the layman as atomic theory, say.

I have problems imagining that. I feel that it is hard to keep a qualified scientist interested in a discussion if you have nothing but "I just know it" in various wordings to bring to the table.
