You have been given a list of names, in a previous post, some of which are held in high reguard by Seventh-day Adventist. But I really don't think that as a church SDAs consider anyone to be a "big gun."


What has caused many to consider certain individuals to be "big guns" is the fact that some pastors and teachers are more involved in the media, and because of that public exposure, are more well known than others.

You indicated that you wanted "to look up some stuff." That being the case let me give you some web sites where I believe that you will be able get answers to almost any question you might have about SDAs, their beliefs, or answers to any Bible question.


The first one is the official Seventh-day Adventist world headquarters website.

Another excellent site is "Amazing Facts." The main speaker is Pastor Doug Batchelor. The world headquarters site is: www.amazingfcts.org


One more excellent site is "It is Written." The main speaker is Pastor Shawn Boonstra. The web address is: www.itiswritten.org. This is also a world headquarters site.


At each of theses sites you will find many reasources as well as direct contact links where you can ask qustions and get a direct personal reply.

I seen Shawn boonstra and attended a live taping. Arrogant media hog for sure. OOH and I feel anybody promoting "facts" or " it is written" should include "in my opinion" > or as is my interpretation but in reality the guys who wrote the bible or edited it aren't around to sue for plagarism TBH.

If by 'big guns' we mean influential, I can assure you that neither Amazing Facts nor Doug Batchelor and his perfectionist drivel played any influence whatsoever in my and many other's Adventists experience.

George Knight and Edward Heppenstall are the two biggest Evangelical influences in Adventism and changed it for the better.

As for Shawn Boonstra, Mark Finley and Dwight Nelson, I can take them or leave them. Mostly just party-line company men though.

Your comments about these people are merely representative of your own opinion. I would suspect that most of the people withinn the SDA church would disagree with you. These people have done a great deal of work, and have made great sacrifices to further the work of Jesus Christ. It is disrespectful to speak of them in this tone.

Let the OP find out for himslf what the truth is about these men rather than trying to fill his head with a bias before he even investigates the matter.

I wouldn't give 2 cents for anything George Knight has to say. Anyone who puts down Ellen White has ZERO influence with me.

I believe those in leadership who have stayed by the old paths are the ones God approves. Elder Colin Standish, Elder Doug Batchelor, Danny Shelton and David Asserick (sp?), Stephen Bohr, as well as a handful of others.

Very few in leadership are faithful to the truth of the Bible. Why? Because broad is the way that leads to destruction--the path of Heaven is narrow. Not many want to find it.

In fact, it appears to me that from what he wrote about her, he just tries to put things in their proper perspective, which is something that should be acknowledged as a good thing, not something to belittle.
