• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Poe's Law pwns everyone -- except Chuck Norris.

And AVIVET's interpretation of Genesis 1. That even pwns Chuck Norris.

Children, let us stop being silly.

You started it

I have friends

Sounds unlikely from the evidence

who are physists and they do not believe in evolution simply because they understand how life begun.

Perhaps they should consider looking at the evidence rather than dismissing something that they don't understand, doesn't sound like the actions of scientists.

You cannot start with evolution.[

You have already been told that you start with an imperfect replicator, not evolution

It looks like you are ashamed to give me the full title of Darwin's title?

You were given the full title. Here it is AGAIN:

On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.

One more time, so you don't miss it again:

On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.

OK?

What likely happened is that a creationist, or an enemy of Dawson, planted the fossil. Dawson walked down that road every day, and the hoaxster probably knew it.

Right --- just like Christians got blamed for the earth's magnetic poles reversing in 58 AD.

Except the Earth's Magnetic Poles didn't reverse in 58 AD, so the point is moot.

Unless you've got some evidence to back up your interpretation of Scripture?

Who are you to tell someone they are not of a religion?

Your inane ramblings about pseudoscience are tiresome. Get back on topic and debate properly or stop posting.

By the way, we win.

evolution doesn't even try to explain how life came about. evolution and abiogenesis are from 2 completely different scientific disciplines
Did you get that folks?

Origin in English means starting point.

But Darwin starts at 1110 and starts counting?

Please tell about point zero and start counting.

The theory of Evolution is a body without legs.

A House without foundations.

I never thought it would be that easy.

Creations start from in the beginning.

You do not have a beginning but you claim to have supplanted God?

Did you get that folks?

Did we get what several people have already gladly told you in this thread? Yeah, I think we got it.

Origin in English means starting point.

Origin of Species, not Origin of Life.

Please tell about point zero and start counting.

The theory of Evolution is a body without legs.

A House without foundations.

Evolution is a biological theory. As such, it deals with biological organisms. Without life, the observed processes that make up the Theory of Evolution have nothing to work with.

I never thought it would be that easy.

You never thought what would be that easy?

Creations start from in the beginning.

With what evidence?

You do not have a beginning but you claim to have supplanted God?

Who claimed that?

Is the theory of gravity falsified because it doesn't deal with origin of matter?

Using your criteria all science would have to be discarded.

Peter :)

No, AV, you're not reading it right. You're a literalist, I thought. So the Christians must have actually inverted the entire planet.

Was Darwin the original Eugenists?

Yes.

It's bad enough when people make bold pronouncements that are incorrect when it comes to biology, it's even worse when they make them demonstrating an ignorance of history but it's simply the worst when they make them and use bad grammar.

Your incorrect question should have read "Was Darwin the original Eugenicist?"

And the answer is no. The Spartans were practicing eugenics thousands of years before Darwin was even born, much less published Origin and Descent or when Creationists started lying to suggest that his ideas had as much of a contribution to eugenics as they try and suggest it did.

Learn some history before spouting your ignorance.

As to the OP, if anyone wishes to check the formal debates subforum, I faced Mark Kennedy on whether Piltdown should be cited or avoided by Creationists. The consensus of readers was that they should. I won't bother restating the details here, but if you check out the debate, you will see why Piltdown was an abberation, not a magic bullet that kills human evolution.
