  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The motivation....

In my brian I know everything the bible says is correct and I admire and respect our Lord v much, and I talk to Him daily that I shall live for Him etc. But why am I still lacking motivation in my life and feeling so isolated on an empty island?
I v asked a few close friends, they just keep giving me bible verses psalms etc which I already knew pretty well.
I want to ask if any of you also have similar experiences, cuz it is so weird....

Sounds like you've got it intellectually. Now you need to get it into your heart!

What I found is that when I discovered what Jesus saved me from, my gratitude to him grew into love and that love grew into love for my heavenly Father who arranged all this for my salvation. Now I can't think about all that without falling to my knees in love and tears!

Hope that helped.

I have experienced something much like this. For me, it was a slumbering spirit. My life was so caught up in the wrong things that my spirit was overpowered by my mind and body. So my "spirit man" went to sleep. You can wake him up by confessing whatever sin is in your life, separating you from God. And command your spirit to wake up in Jesus Name.

But that isn't always the case. Sometimes God makes Himself seem distant to test us. Are we truly obsessed with God? Are we after more than just a feeling? It can seem dry and boring at times; it's not just about emotions. Those are the times you fight through and prove to God that you love Him more than anything. That regardless of how you are feeling, you'll seek. And if you seek, He'll prove that He can be found. And your relationship with Him will be even more incredible than it was already.

God Bless!

"Your father's blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains,"

"Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence."

How to understand the above?
How to feel and touch the heavenly Kingdom?what is exactly the Kingdom.... Am I crazy to ask these questions.....

Sorry for so many questions again:(

You're not crazy! :D

At first it's hard to understand all that God has meant for us to understand in scripture.

There are many different opinions as to what the Kingdom is. As you read scripture, pray to the Holy Spirit that he reveal what the words mean and their relevance to you and your walk. The answer might be different from another's understanding.

Know that you are blessed by God! :)

Um, you say they're your close friends and they're not wanting to find out why? They quote Bible verses at you? Sounds like you need community, and to serve God in whatever capacity He's gifted you with.

No, you are not crazy to ask so many questions. In fact, it may be a sign of greater sanity. (although I imagine you may not feel like it is) :)

Paul understood the difficulities we face as we learn how to walk by faith in the power of the Spirit.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.2Cor.4:7-9

We have been given "every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm" (Eph.1:3). These blessings are "in Christ" and are made up of blessings for both time and eternity. We who are in Christ must develop the capacity for these blessings so that our lives can truly reflect His glory. This is a process of learning His truth and applying it to our lives. Forgetting those things that lie behind us and pressing on to the goal ahead. (Phil3:13)

Jesus said the road to life is "strict and narrow". He was not talking about simply becoming a Christian or going to heaven but the road for a Christian in this life on earth is strict and narrow if they want to experience the abundant life He came to give us. The life of real peace, joy and love. A life that is not found in our circumstances or our feelings, but is the very heart of who and what we are so that no matter what we face in this world we find our victory in Christ our constant companion.

The Christian life does not come about by some means of "magical thinking" or "wand waving" to make everything right. It is a walk of patient endurance, wherein we are constantly being transformed in our thinking by the Word of God as we daily learn from Him.

Do not be disheartened by what you may be feeling and do not worry about the things you do not understand. Instead, hold to those things you know in your heart to be true and stand firm upon them.

When you look at yourself and see areas where you lack? Do not see them as failures but as opportunities for the Lord to work in your life, bringing you into a deeper relationship with Him and thereby revealing to you (and indeed the world) that His grace truly is sufficient in our weaknesses.

Be at peace restore, the Lord is on your side and He never fails. Believe His word.

peace

Hi Restore, many Christians have "head knowledge", but NO "heart knowledge".

When you go to church on Sunday and you are singing the praise and worship songs, do you sing the words of the song from your heart?

When you sing those words do you mean it?

Now if you don't get any feeling over your body, then you need to go to your Christian shop and by some good heartfelt meaniful praise and worship songs and play them all day and sing them.

Such songs as:

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, Open The Eyes Of My Heart, Let Ir Rain, I give You My Heart (Michael W. Smith).

For The Lord Is Good, Stand In Awe, First True Love, Thank You (Andrew Tuppen)

As you continue to read the scriptures you will grow in strength and motivation. New truths continually come to my understanding as I read and re-read the scriptures.
God's words give us strength and motivation will follow.

I've been reviewing something recently, and a thought came to mind. Sometimes I don't try to tackle things because it seems so tough to come out with a consistent action, an action I feel is reasonable and warranted by what I think.

I'm unsure whether you're actually talking about your attitude toward the things Jesus wants; or this separate barrier between your attitude and your actions. Do you know?
