But Genesis was supposedly written by Moses - who was an Israelite.For starters, there were no Israelites in the beginning or for the first 23 generations of human history thereafter.
But Genesis was supposedly written by Moses - who was an Israelite.
[pedant]Israelite means descendant of Israel ben Isaac. [impedent]
Oh dear, that just inspired a terrible pun: Was the Virgin Birth a Mis-Conception?

{pedant}
Hewbrew. He never made it into Israel.
{/pedant}
Groan.(I can't believe it took me three hours to come up with this painful pun but...)
No. Since an unmarried woman has a particular title it would have been a Miss Conception.

Hang on mate. I never said that the Bible was meant only for the Israelites.Furthermore, if the Bible was meant only for the Israelites, why has God allowed it to be translated into so many different languages for propagation around the world?
The question is, should every culture in the history of man read the bible as if it was written for their culture personally? Or should we assume it was written for the ancient Israelites to address issues in their specific culture, and interpolate the meanings to give it validity to our unique cultural issues?You are Israelite because of your ancestry, not because of your geography.
Furthermore, if the Bible was meant only for the Israelites, why has God allowed it to be translated into so many different languages for propagation around the world?
