• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

OT Forums seem to be much less populated

There are only so many things you can discuss. Both YEC and TEs get tired of rehashing the same stuff over and over. Some people leave. Eventually, enough new people repopulate the board and the same conversations are started up again.

Yup.

I'm guessing it's the board changes.

However, boards like this tend to be cyclical. It'll pick up again.

Personally, I'm busy with other stuff, and none of the available threads are of the type where I really have anything to input. I also got tired of having to defend my Christian orthodoxy at every other corner.

busterdog - where are you seeing the contempt? It's a simple statement, and one that seems to have some accuracy...

I tend to get bored when people perpetualy dust down the usual canards and start waving them about like they have any more validity now than when they were first aired. There are plenty of Creationists who have made (and will continue to no doubt) valid theological points, however some (eg. archaeologist, Gottservant) have not.

Well, there are plenty of dormant conversations with promise. For example, I'm still not convinced that the design argument is even biblical...

I haven't checked in for quite some time and noticed that the forums have changed quite a bit and there aren't near as many posts here in OT. Any particular reason for this drop?
I think part of it is in the re-organization of the site. Origins Theology used to be it's own forum. Now, it's a sub-forum of Nicene Theology. I had looked for some time and gave up, thinking Erwin got rid of it altogether. I'm sure others have come to the same conclusion. I only recent found OT by accident.

And they re-organized, yet again. Now it's a sub-forum of 'General Theology', and the 'Nicene Theology' forum seems to have disappeared.

Gotta keep up! This place changes on a daily basis. It's no wonder TO has scant participation........It keeps changing location!!!
