• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If a split happens, who is who?

When it comes to the Traditonals I have more influence than you may realize. There are just a couple of them that give me a hard time, but most of them understand why I speak in the manner that I do, and agree with my thoughts on many things.

I can't say the same for the Progressives, since they utterly despise me. Then again, their opinion of me doesn't really matter.
again you are mistaken. I don't despise you at all Woob, while I don't agree with you, I do not despise you... interesting that you feel that way.... your language and attitude seems to suggest that you despise those who don't share your views, but again, I could be mistaken.....

I agree totally. What about new comers? Where do they go? Who decides? And the moderates?

All will be welcome, but not all things will be allowed. As for moderates, I think that is something that we need to address, as I do not like the way CF decides who is who. I think it is an issue of approach to the interpretation of scripture that ought to decide who we are--either liberal or conservative. I don't think that just because a person doesn't agree with one or more of the 28 doctrines that that person ought to be called a liberal. One could still be conservative and disagree.

So please clarify what standard of inspiration needs to be met.

Have you talked this over with folks like honor the sabbath who is quite clear that those who don't accept the 28 are offshoots?

Danny Shelton
it don't think a public figure in an financial and marital scandal exactly quallifies as off limits and raising awareness about the issue is not off limits. It is just not your personal preference. Danny Shelton is not a member here. Danny is a public figure and as such is not exempt from critisim. Daryl has done nothing wrong in trying to hold DS and 3ABN accountable for there actions and call for an investigation.

It ought to be quite clear by now that most of us our guilty of this. Even you with your 3ABN threads.

I think this very well points out the Utopian idea of a new forum where suddenly most of us no longer do what we have been doing. As if we are all going to change in a moment just because there are new forums, not likely. And I don't think the 3ABN threads are belittling but I do agree that most of us have at some time belittled others.

Daryl made a good point.... the forum is split now, so how is a new split going to differ from the current one...

This makes no sense.

It's split now because there are two groups at war within it. Allow each group to have their own forum and the problem is solved. Hence, this forum will no longer be split. Instead it will be united in the same purpose, to promote growth in Christ, rather than to do nothing but murmur and complain about every little thing that is wrong with our doctrines, the church, and the members thereof.

Wasn't the creation of the Traditional and Progressive subforums within the SDA forum supposed to address these issues?
