^_^ ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR EVERLOVING MIND?

Don't you know that if Erwin closes that poll now with the Choice 2 in the lead, that there will be accusations of the basest kinds? It will be said that it was closed only because the "wrong" choice was in the lead, and PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE IT!:help:

No matter which way this turns out, I do not see the response to the result being pretty.

A poll was never a good idea in the first place.

It's Erwin's site. He should run it in the matter he sees fit.

But will they? This is not meant as a slur, but a serious question. If someone PMs an atheist (or non-Christian) mod with problems they want to talk about, will they (the mod), unconditionally, send that person to a Christian mod or one of the chaplains? I am sure there will be the temptation to try to handle the issues themselves.

I can only answer for myself - I will (and have) always offer to refer the person to someone else first, and suggest that they talk to their pastor if they approach me about an issue with their faith. If they persist in wanting to talk to me, I won't turn them away.

And then he shouldn't be surprised when there is a mass exodus of people who feel swindled by the change in direction.

If you feel swindled by a messageboard, I frankly think you need a bit of a reality check.

i disagree, respectfully. :) there's no reason why if a seeker happened to inquire from a nonChristian mod that that mod couldn't send them to a Christian mod and get the help they were looking for. none whatsoever.

  But, it depends as to which moderator a seeker or struggling Christian turns to. What if there is a moderator who is another faith and decides to share their own non-Christian faith or philosophy instead of getting a Christian moderator involved or referring them to a Christian moderator? Why take the chance? Not that the fellow non-Christian staff members here today would do that at this point, but what about down the road, when this is no longer upfront and on the first page of the newspaper sort of to speak? There is no way of protecting the lambs.

Hold on a minute, D'Ann. It is God who sends a person to one of His Servants. Let us have faith that if a true Seeker comes here, that God is in control, and will make sure that the person comes in contact with the right person. I honestly do not think this is something we have to worry about.

We have far more to worry about with our own infighting turning people away than a non-Christian mod not being able to give Spiritual advice.

I dont like the options, name is just a name, place is just a place, the people who come here matter.

I am really sorry for you Erwin,as I feel you are being bullied, and intimidated...what a shame :sigh:

Christian can make this place Christ - like only,by their own behaviour,no name,no rules,no scriptures are going to do this for us.

I want a vote choice, without answers atached...and about things that really matter....

Well, you know what happens to people when they hold power.

Not trying to say that any of the non-Christian mods are less than stellar in the performance of their jobs, but this is what we hear on a daily basis. That we have all gone power-crazy. We are not trusted even as far as we can be thrown, but yet we are asked to put our trust in someone whose position on many issues is diametrically opposed to a Christians. I haven't taken a firm stance on this issue, but some things do weigh on my mind.
