  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You guys are fine. You do not need borderline depression, anxiety, and mental help. God is the One and Only divine healing. Trust me. Close your door, and simply talk to Him.

Mat 6:6, "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Peace and God bless.
wow, that's the exact same thought i had when reading her post so i co-sign on this.

Snowbunny, don't get offended but i suggest, in all honesty, that the first question u should ask yourself is: why am I, Snowbunny, so needy?.... Start there and see where it takes u. Newfound Revelations and Spiritual Break Thurs are, at often times, just a question away. trust me on this. peace Amiga.

Annette: Counseling. If needed, meds. Seriously.
This is good advice, Snowbunny. Think of your body as a "complex chemical factory"; there are these things called "endorphans", and other chemicals --- depression is both a "thought process", and a "chemical process". When we get depressed, those feelings lead to certain chemical processes; which leads to further depression. It can become a "vicious cycle", and medications are often indicated --- chemicals a doctor prescribes, breaks the cycle. Make sense?

At the same time --- may we talk about your feelings?

You feel worthless, and ugly. Why? Worthless and ugly --- to WHOM?

Many years ago, a child was born; He grew up, and preached a good gospel --- He taught love and righteousness.

...He claimed to be God...

But people loved sin, and hated Him; they killed Him, Snowbunny. In the cruelest way. They beat Him and ripped His flesh, forced a crown of nails onto His head; they nailed Him to a tree.

...but He didn't stay dead. He lives, and He has ascended into Heaven...

Snowbunny --- do you know what was on His mind, as He hung there dying?

Do you?

YOU were on His mind. He thought of you. And He thought of you when He rolled away the stone.

The moment Jesus died, the veil tore Why, Snowbunny? Because --- Jesus is the perfect sacrifice, who enters behind the veil, into the very presence of Almighty God. That's where you're invited --- washed clean by His blood.

He still thinks of you. Far more than you can imagine --- His thoughts of you outnumber the grains of sand. Please read Matt7:21-24. If "house", refers to our "self-worth", then building ourselves on Jesus-the-ROCK, means we will stand. If we base our value on what others think, then we're built on sand; and we'll fall, because imperfect people will always let us down.

YOU are BEAUTIFUL --- because He loves you. You are HIS CREATION --- and He has magnificent plans for you. You cannot see the future; but He can. Please read Jeremiah 29:11-14: "I know the plans I have for you (says the Lord God), plans for prosperity and not adversity, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will come to Me and pray to Me, and I will hear you; you will seek Me, and you will FIND Me, when you search with all your heart; I will be found by you."

Build your self-worth on HIM, on the fact that HE LOVES you, and DIED for you. Then the waves of life will come and pound on your house; the winds will howl, and the rain beat down. Sure a shingle or two will be torn off; a window will break. So too we cannot emerge from life unwounded. But we will not FALL, for we're founded on the Rock. Without those wounds, how shallow we would be! Please read James1:12

You're standing at a crossroads; you have life, or death. There is a wicked voice whispering in your ear: "You're worthless, there is no hope; God could never want someone like you." It's a lie, Snowbunny. By ourselves, we ARE worthless; but He doesn't think so --- HE loved you enough to DIE for you. You cannot fight the evil voice; your only hope, is to turn to Him, and fill your heart so full of Jesus that there will be no room for evil.

Salvation is "knowing God, and Jesus" (Jn17:3). When you feel down and despairing, welcome to the world; every person has felt that, at some time. Turn to Him, and let His joy fill your heart. "He is my strength and my song, and has become my salvation." Psalm 118:14 "These things have I told you, that My joy may be in you, and you joy be made full." Jn15:15

There are different kinds of prayer:
1. Praise, worship; you may not FEEL like praising Him, but He deserves it, He inhabits praise, and when you praise Him He inhabits you.
2. Thanksgiving --- when you're down, it seems there is nothing to be thankful for; but you have clothes, and you ate dinner; many are not so blessed. You and I were born naked, and we will die that way (unless Jesus returns); everything here belongs to Him. Thankfulness is the root of humility; if we humble ourselves before Him, He will exalt us.
3. Repentance --- this is an attitude, we abide in repentance as we abide in Him. He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn1:9

...and He forgets we ever sinned!!!!! Heb8:12!
4. Intercession --- selfishness is the opposite of Christianity; when we pray for our friends, and our enemies, it is impossible to be selfish.
5. Fellowship --- do you know He DELIGHTS in your presence? He ENJOYS you??? He does! The veil, tore for you.
6. Waiting on God --- come into His presence with a calm heart and a quiet reverence, and listen for His voice.
7. Last, and least --- pettition; James says "we have not, because we don't ask; or we ask and do not receive because we ask wrongly, to spend it on our passions." Psalm 37:4 says "delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

If you delight in Him, your desires will be His desires.

You've been given a lot of advice here, Snowbunny. But it's gonna take ACTION. You have to make a choice. We are ill-equipped to offer you counselling; all we can do is offer good advice, and encourage you to seek professional help.

...and we can love you, and tell you "you're not alone"...

Don't look at the MOUNTAINTOP --- look at the next step in front of you. You can take one step! And the next step, is to contact your minister, priest, and ask him to direct you to someone who can counsel you, someone kowledgeable in God's ways, and with a medical degree if you need those medicines.

It is no crime to ask for help; we all need help some times.

...the crime, even tragedy, would be not asking.

You are a beautiful person, because He made you so. He has wonderful plans for you; resist the devil (the one whispering "worthlessness" in your ear), and he will flee; draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James4:7-8

Please keep us posted on what is happening in your life.

!!!!!!!

Thanks for that beautiful post, Elijah. :)

I'm sorry czach, I know I overreacted in my post. I think that's possibly THE worst advice to give a depressed person (short of "Kill yourself, you ____ crybaby, as a certain CF member told me on another forum and was actually serious), but I know your intentions were good and it was wrong of me to flame you. I'll go back and edit out the mean parts. I've always respected you greatly and I hope you'll forgive me for being so abrasive there.

 good job here! i'm very proud of u in all seriousness. Czach is somebody that i have come to admire greatly in the short period of time that i've known him; purely bc of his spirituality, his desires for mankind, and his tireless efforts to try to make a positive change in today's society. he is somebody that i would take a STAND for in an instant (he happens to b one of the main reasons for what took place in the R.I. Thread). so, at first, it hurt me to see that u had, unjustly, attacked my brother like that.... but ur apology is a sweet reward for both me and him. ty. i sincerely forgive u. GOD bless.

...... the first question u should ask yourself is: why am I, Snowbunny, so needy?.... Start there and see where it takes u.

However if u feel u r not needy and depression happens to b the root of ur problems like it's indicated here:

Annette: Counseling. If needed, meds. Seriously.

Then allow me to make a suggestion.... B4 u get hooked on the meds u should read this:

Carlton Pearson.... Religion won’t let you love yourself. Religion is the accuser of the brethren, that’s what the devil is. It’s legal systems, religious dogmas that say you’re not good enough, you’re not God enough.....People who believe in hell create it for themselves and others. People who believe in devils and demons become that in consciousness, and they act it out.....We may go through hell, but nobody goes to hell.

if u apply this concept to ur daily life then this might just cure u of ur depression. GOD bless.

hi, I think most people pass through difficult periods in life. I know you are not muslim but the Quranic advice is the only advice I can give you, I hope you will not get offended.

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, Who say, when afflicted with calamity: “To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return”:-
They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.
-
[Quran 2:155-157
]

With hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease [Qur'an 94:5-6]
That was very nice of you. Although I seem like an *#@hole many times I only say things as I see them. Since you are helping this woman with all your heart I will reinforce the what you have posted with some Biblical scripture:

Psalm 23 (King James Version)

1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 22 (King James Version)

1My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
9But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
26The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
27All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.
29All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

Psalm 91 (King James Version)

1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Matthew 5 (King James Version)

1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
27Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
31It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
33Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
38Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
41And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Isaiah 25 (King James Version)

1O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
2For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
3Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
4For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
6And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
8He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
9And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
10For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.
11And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
12And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

Revelation 21 (King James Version)

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Then allow me to make a suggestion.... B4 u get hooked on the meds u should read this:
Again, please disregard the above suggestion, Annette.

Some really "hardcore" medications - such as lithium for very extreme borderline and/or multiple personality cases - may become addictive. Find a psychiatrist. Talk to him or her about what, if any, medications you need. Tell him/her what meds you're on, and of any moderate to severe medical problems (heart disease, kidney stones, diabetes, and so on) that you or your immediate family have. Ask your psychiatrist what meds would be best. Tell him/her your concerns about addiction to 'scrips. Ask about side effects. If one medication isn't working, ask for help in finding another one.

Not all medications are addictive. It is a pretty bad fallacy to assume so, or to listen to someone who has assumed so. I was on medications for several years before I - stupidly - made a unilateral decision to stop taking them without consulting my doctor. I was off them for six months, and never once did I experience any symptoms of withdrawl.

GOD bless.
I am quite sure that Annette has tried doing this. She continues to fall short. Counseling and medication - with a prescription from a psychiatrist (one can obtain these from a family doctor as well, but I'd only recommend doing this as a last resort) - are the first step. Once one receives proper therapy and medication if there is a chemical imbalance, then it is time to turn to the Almighty.

~
That said, thank you, Ben, for your wonderful and inspiring post. As many have gathered from my recent posts throughout the forums, I've been struggling with my faith for awhile, but this is truly an encouragement to me.

I sincerely hope that your words here will mean as much to Annette as they do to me. You're amazing. God bless.

hola

i am sorry to burden anyone with this... but i am plagued by hopelessness. i feel like a failure as a woman, i have pushed my husband and family away... i feel ugly and useless... i think i am losing my faith, prayer has not relieved anything and i truly feel alone in the world... i want to give up

has anybody experienced this or does anybody know how to pass through this?

gracias

Well, don't give up. When life throws ya' lemons, make lemonade.

What I do when I'm depressed is just find an activity I enjoy or something to get my mind off the depression. Loud music and a punching bag helps too. :)

There are always people out there who will love you for who you are - I don't know whe extent of the problems with your husband and family - but I'll bet that things can be patched up.

What really inspires me in this thread is that despite our religious differences, we all still manage to show our selfless behavior in helping someone who is suffering. This what God expects from us.

Peace and God bless all souls.

Friction, ur right i shouldn't assume things. Snowbunny, if u just want to treat the symptoms of depression and remain on medication for a lifetime then follow this advice:

if u would actually like to cure the disease (i had a friend who went thur the same thing u did) then follow this advice:

the choice is urs. good luck wit whatever route u choose. GOD bless.

U.M., this is getting out of control. Judging by your posting style, I'm under the impression that you are very young, and having been antagonized by you several times even when your points have been refuted , I am quite sure that you do not have the life experience to be giving out medical advice.

I will pray that no one thinks that your "advice" is worth following. It has the potential to hurt others badly.

Please, stop insulting others as often as you do. It accomplishes nothing. And above all else, it is extremely hurtful of you to hijack a depressed person's support thread in order to attack others.

Take care.

U.M. do us all a favor and shut up! You've done nothing since you've gotten here but shown how ignorant you are to the rest of the community. You probably know nothing about psychology or mental health, and this is why you think prayer and a belief in God can solve all forms of depression. Friction knows about depression she's suffered from it before, and she knows that pills help, and that (despite your ignorant little stereotypes) don't turn you into a junkie.

True, but that isn't what this thread is about. It troubles me that we (myself included :() have allowed yet another thread to be derailed. I find it especially sad because this is the type of thread that really needs to stay on-topic.
