We can.Why can't we have a poll concerning the number of Mods
It's just like starting a thread, only before you submit the new thread, you'll specify in the options that you want to add a poll, and the number of options in the poll. Then, when you submit the new thread, you'll be taken to an additional screen where you can specify the poll details.Don't know how to start a poll.
Yes . That would be a good idea. To explain what we are trying to accomplish by it.probinson said:I understand what you're saying, and I will put in the post to please read the post before voting. I can even edit the first post to include a brief summary of the pros and cons.
However, if people vote in a poll without understanding the ramifications, there is little that I can do about that. You're asking me to take personal responsibility for others, and I can't do that. I can try to make it as easy for them as possible, but they will still have to take the initiative themselves and think through the possible outcomes of the result of their voting.
That sounds like a good plan to meprobinson said:As to the number of moderators, I agree that 3 moderators makes more sense than 2, because you could never have a "tie" when making a decision. This is a point well taken.
In that case, I would suggest that there be (9) moderators in SF, (3) for Pentecostal, (3) for Word of Faith, and (3) Charismatic, so that all parties are represented equally in the SF forum. Again, only the (3) Word of Faith moderators would moderate the Word of Faith forum with NO input from the other (6), and likewise for the Pentecostal moderators.
I would also like to add, that the minimum time commitment for joining staff is 4 hours, 3 times/week. That being the case, it would be near impossible to staff the WoF forum with WoF staff 24/7/365. I should point out that most staff spend a great deal more than their minimum time requirement at CF, but the minimum is all that is required to remain on staff.
Ah but what about the "Non -WoFers"?Are you saying its required to have 100 posts in this forum to vote? That may need to be on the first post or title.
Yes . That would be a good idea. To explain what we are trying to accomplish by it.
No I'm not asking you to be responsible . Some look at the poll itself and think thats all that is involved. But a quick summary or asking them to read a link first that points to certain posts I think that would help. They would be more likely to do that to be informed than read a long thread of posts.
That sounds like a good plan to me
I am talking about the new forum -the one for non wofers -there was no provision made there in the numbers of modsWhat do you mean? This was a discussion about Mods for WOF
That's because that forum was added this afternoon after my post.I am talking about the new forum -the one for non wofers -there was no provision made there in the numbers of mods
I didn't know anything about it. But every one not in this subforum, the whole site would be non WOF Surely you dont mean they are calling it that? That would be extreme prejudice which first of all is wrong and 2nd its not allowed since anyone can go anywhere now.I am talking about the new forum -the one for non wofers -there was no provision made there in the numbers of mods
I believe it's full name is "Charismatic Non-WoF", and it is a subforum of Spirit-Filled, just like Pentecostal and Word of Faith.I didn't know anything about it. But every one not in this subforum, the whole site would be no WOF Surely you dont mean they are calling it that? That would be extreme prejudice which first of all is wrong and 2nd its not allowed since anyone can go anywhere now.
OK, the poll has been fixed. We can now see who is voting.
But, this means if you've already voted, you need to vote AGAIN to get your vote recorded.
Like the other poll, this one will run for 30 days, so you can think about it for a while and read the arguments for and against this move before voting.
This IS the FIRST post of this poll and I dont see any pros and cons postedPLEASE READ: THIS IS A PUBLIC POLL, SO WE CAN DETERMINE THAT ONLY WOF MEMBERS ARE VOTING.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE VOTED. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FIRST POLL AND WE HAD TO CREATE A NEW POLL.
Should the Word of Faith forum be a main congregational forum, separate from the Spirit-Filled forum?
That is the question.
I will post the relevant arguments, and the potential pros and cons of a move like this in this first post for your consideration.
That's because we just got everything moved into the new poll thread. This IS the FIRST post of this poll and I dont see any pros and cons posted
The numbers in a public poll are clickable. Click the nubmer, see who voted.I can't see who is voting.
I just see 2 to 1, my favor.
I believe it's full name is "Charismatic Non-WoF", and it is a subforum of Spirit-Filled, just like Pentecostal and Word of Faith.
Yes, you can go in there. No, you can't debate there. Just like non-WoF Charismatic can come in here, but can not debate us here.
There is some discussion on what to call the forum. Personally, I think non-WoF Charismatic is fine and dandy, but it won't be up to me.
I think there is a marked difference between ANTI-WoF and NON-WoF.I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself just now. I know some hate us and wish we were gone and all but said so but it was like someone hit me and knocked me down when I read it
I've posted a brief paragraph that lists the pros and cons, as well as some considerations I think are relveant to making this decision.
Admittedly, I have voted against this move, so please, TasMan, God_Owned, or any others that are for the move, send me your Pros and Cons lists, and I will edit my OP to include them as well.
Even if the Word of Faith forum were to be moved and staffed entirely with Word of Faith believers as moderators, the next tier of staff, Super Mods, will contain much more than just Word of Faith members, since Super Mods oversee the entire congregational area. Ideally, at least one representative from each congregation would be on the Super Mod team for congregational areas. While Super Mods do not generally get intimately involved with the day to day operations of the moderators, they do offer guidance and input from time to time, and so would present a controlling factor in ALL congregational forums.
