I'm sure there were a great many black folks who didn't want to be black in the 'back of the bus' era either.Mercyburst said:They don't want to be gay, and there's nothing wrong with wanting that.

On the contrary, it's awful to realise that there are people ready to convince them they have a problem and then give them bogus 'help' that ends up harming them. But it's good to know that once people realize and admit they have a problem, there are people there ready, willing and able to help
Thank you for your concern, but I do not have a problem, and I really do not need help.Obviously, you are not ready to admit a problem, so you are not ready to get help. That's all I'm saying
Why are you talking about a disorder? Being gay is not a disorder. How a disorder manifests itself has noting to do with what causes it.
Homosexuality is normal for some of us. It's normal for me. I don't have to promote it. I just live my life, the same as other people do.If you go back over this discussion, you'll note that I was talking about people promoting homosexulaity as normal. Are you suggesting that those people are celibate?
Being gay is not like substance abuse. There is no abuse of anything; we are just different in one particular way from heterosexuals. Being gay is more like being left-handed. Left-handed people are not addicted to writing with their left hand. That's just how they express who they are, how they naturally write or eat. Someone can choose to try to write with their right hand even if they are left-handed, but it will go against their nature. Someone else can come along and teach left-handed people to write with their right hand and say, "We are just giving them options." But why try to teach someone to write with their right hand when their nature is to be left-handed? Why not just accept them as they are, which is left-handed?That's what substance abusers say.
But I'm willing to take people at their word. If they say they are an ex-homosexual who is now fully straight and attracted to the opposite sex I won't argue with them. I won't even care.
Glad to see you being able to change your mnd

How can you compare something natrual to something unnatrual? That's what substance abusers say.
With years of therapy, Exodus president Alan Chambers says, he has mostly conquered his own attraction to men. But still struggles at times with homosexual temptation. On the contrary. The quote I provided came from an ex-homosexual who is married (to a woman) and has children, again refuting your claim.

So much for the claim of being an Ex-homosexual
Yup, becasue it isn't.I never said substance abuse was natural
One day at a time, just like alcoholics
But Homosexuality is
Homosexuality happens in nature, so it IS natural.Merely by you saying so? Homosexuality is an evolutionary dead-end. You can't reverse supposed "millions of years" of evolution in a couple decades. If homosexuals can't have children and reproduce themselves without any outside means, then it's a dead-end.
