  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The problem with the scientific observation called a theory, is that it is based on a pre-supposed "what if" universe. This theory does not explain why there was a big bang, and only tries to demonstrate what could have happened, through second hand observations.

God crafted the world of his own design and Man in his own image:

Gen 1:2

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Gen 1:27

So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Blessings

To the contrary, I see it as proof of inteligent design . From MY point of view, dark matter plays a great role in the gravitational balance of the universe. It takes up no space at all, and has effects on a galaxy's gravity, as if it DID have mass. So, The way I see it, it was made and intended for balence of the universe :)

Intelligent Design is a solid concept that denotes that the universe is a detailed mechansim that balances the solar system.

I believe that the concept on it merits is full :

But leaves out who is the Intelligent Designer?

The Intelligent Designer is God....

Kinda interesting, I was watching one of those evolution big bang shows a couple of weeks ago,,,and it is now stated, and agreed by a number of scientists, the before the bang, in the center of everything, matter could not have existed, as it would have been so small to be measured. So now they have come up with LIGHT starting it all!

1st John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that GOD IS LIGHT, and in Him there is no darkness at ALL.

It seems to be a huge leap from finding this anamoly to finding enough dark matter to balance the reaction that was big bang. The equation still seems to be fudged, since the amount of dark matter is determined to be whatever was enough to BB work.

The enormous unlikelihood of BB is measured in terms of statistical absurdities. Mathematically, why is it any less absurd that the same light or nonmatter or whatver did its thing in situ a trillion, trillion times over on Day one of six?

One other new topic in the News is planet formation. The newest dwarf planet was said to be formed by swirling gasses around a young star. Since the big bang theory is explosive, we have to take into account these facts. Planets are still forming. Is this new theory a sign? God continues to expand and grow. We look toward the heavens for continual signs from God.

Yesterday, I came across an article about Dark Matter written in 1999.
Apparently, they have been trying to prove its existence for a long time.

Since that time we have had theories of the big crunch, the big tear and the big freeze or something like it, all dependent on the unknown quantity of dark matter.

In 2005, here is a study questioning its existence:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9655619...uestions-about-the-big-bang.html#post34880722

Here is the basic article on this "hypothetical" substance

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_matter

Here is an article on the fine tuning of energies necessary for the BB to result in celestial bodies:

Notice how quickly we have gone from finally "detecting" any dark matter at all to indignation at the idea that the volume of dark matter that allegedly balances the big bang is something of which we creationists are ignorant. See OT forum.

Thanks for the articles. I will read them.

As far as the OT goes,
that's the way it is about everything,
in my opinion.

Apparently, some people think of this as
proof of the Big Bang Theory".

As a Creationist, how do you see it?
I don't see any such thing as the "Big Bang".
The universe does not display itself as one big explosion. It shows quite the opposite.
We will NEVER know exactly how or when it all came about. All we can know is that God said He created it all.
I happen to believe that God has been creating different parts of the universe from "The Beginning" (eons ago), and "Finished" up with life on planet earth (6 kya).

The Big Bang is the sound of scientist hitting their heads on the wall trying to figure out how it happened "without" a creator. Unfortunately, they are using a lot of our money to go in circles and need to come up with new theories every so often to justify their existence.

What are the odds of a trillion, trillion little bangs, or little squeaks all at once, as you perhaps suggest? Are they appreciably less likely if the source is some unknowable, impossibly foreign entity or energy?
I think the answer from science is that it is simply too messy to think that way and to heck with the odds. In other words, it is a failure of imagination.
