  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey everyone,
Hope you guys had a good, chocolatey, memorative Easter.

After doing a small search, I've found a little clarity now. I now know what I have to do to become a better person. I just hope that...everything will go well.

Rita
I had a good Easter, ended up doing a lot of cleaning this weekend.

Awesome, that's great to hear.
I'm just checking in to see how everyone is doing.
I'm doing well.
I've been staying with (non-Christian) family for the last few days - which is normally dire, as I usually spend all my time bickering with them and come back feeling guilty and miles from God! This time, that didn't happen!! I didn't witness to them as much as I should have, but I think i was a lot nicer to them than usual, and did get one chance to talk about what Easter really means! Praise God, He kept His hand on me, and kept me close to Him!!
PTL, that's wonderful news.
Hello friends!

I'm back... well, about 80% back and about 90% recovered-- only through the grace of God. I'm hoping to be in check much more frequently now, but I do have many things to catch up on-- balancing the check books, laundry, filing, laundry, sorting through several weeks of mail and school memos, laundry, catching up on bills, laundry, etc.

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter filled with many wonderful things!
I'll keep you in prayer, hope you're back up to 100% soon.
 Good afternoon everyone, I hope you all had a Happy Resurrection Remembrance Day! I know I did, first of all not only did we have a great service we were joined by my son who does not go to church at all, but by a wonderful miracle of G-d we were presently surprised by my sons appearance at church I praise the L-rd for that. I know I've never commented about me or myself before but I'll try to make that effort from here on as to truly partake on this mission in this club. Well after service we had a great meal of fish no less, afterwards I went to my uncles rosary, who was married to my moms sis, I saw the sadness and hopelessness of my family and the people there. I have much work before me, please pray for my son, we're working with him to go to re-hab for drug and alcohol addiction. Well this is a little about me and mine for those who read and pray over this post G-d bless you and watch over you and yours.

Much love,

Melissa:hug:s
I will keep your son in prayer, it's good to see that he came to the Easter/Resurrection service. God is good, and He Word never returns void.

I'm willing to try, though I'm still young in my journey with Christ, and I've never read the entire Bible before, so I might not know for sure what Jesus would do in every single situation I encounter. I'm sure He'd let me know if I prayed about it though. So I'm in. :)

I think it's great that we can come here to encourage and support one another. We can talk about what God has done in our lives but I think we also need to talk about what we have done in our lives for God. And in doing so, we can have personal reflection and the opportunity to examine our own faith. I would like to give each of you the opportunity to do just that. But out of respect for the purpose of this club, I'm providing a link to what I've written in my own club instead of posting the thread here. You can Click Here to read the post entitled 'Are you a lukewarm Christian?' I would like to encourage each of you to read that post so that you may examine your own faith. God bless you.

Read your bible, get to know Jesus better, memorize scripture (maybe one per week). Carry the chosen scripture around with you, meditate on its meaning, apply it to your life. In the morning ask God how you can be a blessing to others for Him. Look for opportunities to be a blessing online, on the phone, and in person. Sometimes one encouraging godly word from a Christian can change a person's life. You don't always get to see how you effect people. You have to be content in the knowledge that living a Christlike example can be a great blessing to others.

Talk to everyone and anyone! You have the power of God living in you. It can be scary to speak out for Jesus, but we have to walk in faith.

We all find great excuses why we don't do what the Lord instructs us to do. Don't blow your next opportunity, even if it's uncomfortable(and it probably will be). Those opportunities are tests from God to see if you will be obedient. He wants to know if you are ready for the next level. He won't bless your missions if he can't trust you to obey Him. You say you want to be a missionary. You need to start practicing right now where you are. Think about what you CAN do, not what you can't. You could start a daily blessings list. This list can include blessings you feel you have received and ways that you feel the Lord allowed you to bless someone else.

Recently a friend sent me a story about a women named Edith Burns. She always carried her bible with her (obviously not afraid to talk to anyone who might notice it - about God). Every day of the year she introduced herself this way; "My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?". If they said "yes" she would ask "What do you believe about Easter?" She loved having this same conversation over and over again. She won a lot of people to Christ.

You have to decide what is important in your life. If it's important to you that you tell people about Christ, then you will find a way to do it.

Thanks for the advice and the encouragement. I talked to my mom about it, and she said that I am allowed to walk to the town right near where we live and I can go door-to-door handing out tracts or just talkling to people about Christ, as long as I have my brother or my sister with me. So, I'm going to order some tracts soon and start doing that. Finally I'll have something I can do for my Lord.

I'll be praying for you and your family. Especially your son. I have a brother who has the same problem with alcohol and drugs. Well, he did at least. I don't know for sure if he is still like that though. Anyway, I'm praying for ya!

Hey all, I was wondering, how long have you all been saved. I was thinking about it and I was just wondering. I have been saved for about 10 years (I think), what about you guys?

Let's look at it this way. If you were a criminal, guilty of serious crimes, standing before a judge and you said, 'Judge, I know I'm guilty, but I have faith that you're a forgiving man and that you'll just forget about what I did and let me go,' should the judge let you go? I think we can agree that if a judge is a good judge, he cannot just overlook crime, but must see to it that justice is served and that criminals are punished. Now, let me ask you this, do you think God is good? If your answer is yes, then if God is good, then by nature, He will not overlook your sins, but will do everything in His power to see that justice is served and that you are punished.

Agreed.
God is just, and the price for sin must always be paid.
BUT - my Judge, whilst He must punish sin, has taken that punishment on Himself so that I may be forgiven!!
This doesn't mean that I should go on sinning - but if I do slip up, He will still forgive me!
I see the point you are making, and agree to a point - but God does not condemn us if we repent!

Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Hey all, I was wondering, how long have you all been saved. I was thinking about it and I was just wondering. I have been saved for about 10 years (I think), what about you guys?

You know that is such a complex question! ^_^ I *professed* myself a Christian ~10 years ago. I probably was null and void of it's true meaning for the first several years. Around ~5 years I had really begun to involve myself and God started evolving me. Around year 7 I had some problems we moved (I wasn't too fond of the area) and I was under some serious attacks. Once I moved past that I chose to make a harder and bigger effort to become a better and more mature Christian.

It's different for me though as I am (within reason and some degree) unequally yoked. It's not ugly or excruciating at home like some couples are, but it's not the ideal setting either (particularly when children are involved). So all of this is pretty much on my own with very little to no support at home.

Indeed, God is the only one who is truly just. And yet He, in His infinite love for us, paid the price and has given us the free gift of grace, all we need do is accept His offer of pardon. It is a bit mind boggling that level of love for us. Especially, if you think of it as you, if you were the only one ever to be saved, Jesus still would has died on the cross for just you.

That's awesome, hitting the street is great. Being a geek myself, I tend to hit the net more.

How long have I been saved, good question.
I grew up going to church, I first gave my life to Christ when I was around 10, I think.

22 years!
Of which I have probably spent the first five or so and the past two in a right relationship with Him. The ones in between weren't so good. But praise God, He never gave up on me!!

Agreed. The key word is 'if': "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9). Thank you for reading the post. God bless you.
