  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think Bridgette's sister was referring to all of us.

Took a long nap today due to a sore throat and all that goes with that.

I read the article of the place in St. Louis. I was surprsed to see the association with the Baptist church though.

Takes me back to the days when my DH was in Seminary, fellowship, theology and beer.

Okay. I'm quite toasted. (mucho vino) And trying not to bite my head off at my guests. They are our dear friends, who are homeless. We offered them the house last night for showers, laundry, and a place to sleep. Figured it was cold out (January) and A Good Thing to give them a warm place to sleep for the night.

But after church today they came back. *sighs* At least they asked about overstaying their welcome, and I told them they need to be goen by the time Hunter comes home from work. He's a stong "I" on the Meyers Briggs Personality Type Indiator (introvert), and he needs his space to rejuvenate. So I hope they'll be gone in an hour.

I want to do more, but I have to focus on the health of my family first.

I feel bad for turning them out. How sad. I know they are going to sleep in their car tonight.

But at least they have had a shower, and they have had a couple good, hot meals, and they have had a night indoors in the warmth sleepign.

*sighs*

I need more wine.

Hi Seajoy

I'm on then I'm off. Thinking about taking a nap  Having sleep problems again. How are you feeling? :)
Feeling pretty good today (shoulder wise)...sorry you aren't sleeping well.:(

I had an awful nightmare at about 4am. It woke me right up. I've been sluggish all day from it.

Should I head over to the dreams and visions forum?

I wouldn't. I am not sure if you are taking any pain meds, but when I take Vicoden, I have weird dreams and nightmares. I figure that it must do something to that part of the brain.

I'm sorry...I was only joking about heading over to that forum :sorry: (I forgot my smilie :) ).

I never thought about my dreams having something to do with meds. I dream a lot.

I haven't visited that forum yet, wonder what interesting things one can learn there. Naw, think I will stay away.

I know in dreams I have had, I would have been beaten up, lost everything and traveled to exotic warm places, had careers I would never think about. Naw, Real life is more fun and exciting!

That must be why vicodon doesn't affect me as my wife says I don't have a brain ;)

Actually it does help me to sleep as it lessons the pain in my back etc, but if I hurt really bad I will chase it with beer for greater effects, but if I drink more then two I won't sleep at all, but it sure does take the pain away. :)

I remember the doc gave me codeene based pain pills after I had surgery quite a few years ago and they really screwed up my mind. I quit taking them because of halucinations and some really nasty stuff.

i heard a story once about a family that helped out a homeless guy. They even let him do some odd jobs around the house to help out and earn a copuple bucks.

He snuck in the house one night and kidnapped their 14 y.o. daughter... and kept her for nine months!

Flying is for the birds :D

I just want to sleep
Double vodka martini, a little dry, straight up. Works like a charm. ;)

Or you might try a little something that I happened upon whilst traveling. It's what I really rely on and works like a charm.

For your back pain, you may want to try a Pilates exercise ball. They are easily found and you'll be surprised at the level of workout you can get sitting down. It worked for me.
