What is everyones thought on society's current events that may lead to the end times or the persecution of christians?

I, frankly, am needing Christs strength to cope with the thought of this question. If terrible things start to happen should we flee to safer countries or cities? Does the Bible state such a safe place? Lately I have been having thoughts of triangles and eyes and can't seem to get them out of my head. I also seem to be noticing more triangles and eyes as company logos while driving around similar to the pyramid and eye on the back of the one dollar bill. I guess they are ok as long as there isn't any meaning behind them.

please discuss.

I do believe that we are the generation that will see the return of Jesus. If that is the case, then things will get progressively worse as the world system becomes more corrupt and evil flourishes. I don't think that there will be any safe place to go except in Christ's arms. Don't despair, friend, or allow the spirit of fear to overcome you. As Christians, if we die, we simply go to heaven to be with our great Lord! God is completely in control, even though it may not always look like it. That's why, IMO, He informed/warned us of things to come in His WORD so that we would prepare our hearts for that time period. Trust God, and let's pray for each other! :amen:

Events don't lead to the end times. Speculation about whether a certain event is a certain prophecy is quite unuseful and leads people to do other than what God wants us to do.

God didn't tell us to go forth and blow up all the nations so that he could come, he said to make disciples of all nations, bapitsing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Well I have decided that being scared and fleeing anywhere, other than in the knowledge that Christ will be in control and protect me, will not gain me any relief. So should anything happen to me or my family, so be it. Gods will will be done regardless and may whatever happens to me glorify Him so that He will be praised.

The thought of my original question has passed. I just wish I could've come to this understanding sooner, cuz it was really bugging me previously. I hate negative thoughts. Should any of you have negative thoughts - step back and realize they are not from God cuz only positive things are from God.

"End Times?" Bah. We're all gonna die before long, so we're all in our "end times". But "newspaper eschatology" and "pin the tail on the antichrist" is a pure waste of time.

If it's the end of the world, how would any part of the world be safer? "End of the World warning now in effect for most of middle Tennessee..."

You should'nt live like you just don't care old man. And no, the end times announcement won't come over your new bluetooth phone, sir, but I'm sure there will be warning signs sent from God. And if your country is one of the first ones to undergo extreme persecution of christians, you may want to put your family into a safer environment. That is, if you no longer think the end times is a "pure waste of time".

Just the natural facts. the old "it ain't never been this bad before" chant is for those who are completely ignorant of history.

We didn’t have the ability to nuke ourselves 2000 years ago. I’d say the world is more dangerous now than then.

I hope these are the end times. There is so little love amongst "christians" that God must be very saddened. I for one am very discouraged by this society and most "christians". I hope the end is near, I can't take anymore.
I agree that Father is saddened by the lack of love amongst the brethren. Too often, we allow petty doctrinal differences to come between us and cave in to our "flesh". The goal is to not give "railing for railing", but to walk in Christ's humility and reflect His love. Also be aware that not everyone who claims to be a Christian is. Don't be discouraged, sister. I believe we are in the last days, and Jesus is coming soon. Let's focus on getting the Gospel message out, and bringing more folks into the Kingdom! God bless you! :amen: :prayer:

We are in the end times. I believe we are in the great tribulation and that Christ will soon return as the judge of the world. As mentioned in earlier posts the increasing frequency of natural disasters and wars can be expected as the end nears. There is nowhere to hide. But the true tribulation is spiritual for it is a time when God is testing all who claim to be Christian. Matthew 24: 21 describe a tribulation that is so great that there has never been such a tribulation in the history of the world. Then verse 24 tells us the character of this tribulation is spiritual (also in Rev 13, Mark 13). Are people adhering to the bible or are they putting their faith in their churches and blindly following their doctrine no matter how far they stray from God’s word? This can be compared with OT Israel. God was patient with Israel (I and II Samuel and I and II Kings) however, there came a time that judgment fell upon Israel for their increasing wickedness. For the ten northern tribes, it came in 709 B.C. and for the two southern tribes, known as Judah, it came in 587 B.C. After Pentecost God used the NT church to be the caretaker of his Word but already in rev 7 God had to warn the churches that they were already falling away and that they had better re-align themselves to His Word.

God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. We know how he warned people of the past who thought they knew him, had patience with them as their wickedness increased and finally destroyed them. The next destruction will happen to all of creation when Christ returns and separates the wheat from the tares (Matthew 13:24-30). The evidence that we are in the great tribulation is all around us and it is up to the believers to sound the alarm. In Hosea 5 & 6 God says that pride was/is the major sin of of Israel. They took their eyes off the Lord and they were punished for it. Today the same thing is happening in the churches.

God warns us not to be distracted from the true Gospel (Gal 1:9, Eph 4:14) we should have a spiritual focus and love one another by declaring the gospel so salvation can come to all God’s people (Romans 10:17). Daniel the prophet forsaw these troubled times and it upset him greatly. But we can't give up! It is our duty to tough it out (Gal 6:9) and spread the word. Remember God will not subject us to more than we can bear and a great multitude will be saved during these times (Revelation 7:9)

In Christ's service,
David.

Care about what? People running around identifying the antichrist du jour? Pass. I'll find other ways to waste my time. The Lord will come when it is His good pleasure to do so, and not a second sooner or later. If He doesn't come fairly soon by cosmic standards, I will die. The end result of either event is roughly the same for me.

And no, the end times announcement won't come over your new bluetooth phone, sir, but I'm sure there will be warning signs sent from God.
And if you're an End of the World aficionado, durn near everything you read in the news is a "warning sign". That's why we were assured by EotW buffs that the Lord would return in 1988, 1989, 2000, and so forth. If they keep bumping the date they'll eventually get it right one way or another.

And if your country is one of the first ones to undergo extreme persecution of christians, you may want to put your family into a safer environment.
Which has what precisely to do with the EotW? When the Lord returns, that's it. Then we will forever be with the Lord.

We didn’t have the ability to nuke ourselves 2000 years ago. I’d say the world is more dangerous now than then.

No, you just raped and murdered every man, woman and child you could find.

A person who thinks this period that we are living in, is much worse than the past period is fairly ignorant of history?

So, perhaps you could tell me what period of time, was better than the period of time we are living in now?

If you would like know, the past maybe 300-400 years, has seen vast improvements in the conditions of humanity as a whole. Prior to this period , the condition of society fluctuated from mid to low, but for the past few centuries, society has been continually improving. Fewer people starve to death, for the first time in history poverty levels have been declining, the standard of living has continually been improving. Individuals are more socially concerned.

But of course, us naive Americans may assume the world is falling apart, because of our recent walk with terrorism, but I warn you, that in doing so you are looking at the world with tainted eyes, and not objectively. Since 9/11 occurred in our lifetime, we view it as the worst event in all of history, and yet 9/11 is only a speck compared to the holocaust, or slavery.

If you for some reason still feel the world has grown worse with time, tell me, tell us, which period was better?
