  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone know web sites which have good layout and design? I want to view a few so I can get an idea for my web site. I am thinking of making a personal one which I keep on my computer to practice and maybe at some point put up on the web, but I have to decide what are the best colours to use and layout.

If you have hits as to good colours you could post them here too.

I would have to say your best bet is just to experiment with a design program and see what works best for you.

As for the best colors, as someone who designs websites professionally I would have to say any color scheme that is readable to anyone browsing your site. However, as I look at this type of work as something of creative expression I would have to say that whatever appeals to you would be the best idea.

As for links to sites, just browse and see what you like. Otherwise it's like going to a clothing store and asking which is the best shirt.

As a final note, if you want any help or opinions on your stuff feel free to PM me.

might i also just add, as a professional web developer, if i were interviewing you for my company, and you weren't able to code an entire site template using GIMP (or if you're a windows weenie, photoshop) for graphics and notepad (or some other such text editor), then i wouldn't hire you...
