• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just went though the whole process of showing how evos so called evidence is bogus.

I've been on this forum for almost four years and not once have I seen you post this evidence.

In fact, if you have 'evidence', by all means get it published and peer-reviewed. You can get the Nobel Prize and over a million dollars in prize money and a free trip to Oslo. Oslo's a pretty town too.

I've been on this forum for almost four years
In four years you do not understand the message I am trying to get across? I just can not believe in four years time I have failed to communicate with you.

I do not care if you accept what I am saying or not. That really does not matter to me. All we need to do is tell people the truth, what they do with it is between them and God. Once I deliver the message God gives me to deliver to people then I am done. If they reject it or accept it is up to them.

Your message hasn't gotten through to anyone, as far as I can see.

I do not care if you accept what I am saying or not. That really does not matter to me. All we need to do is tell people the truth, what they do with it is between them and God. Once I deliver the message God gives me to deliver to people then I am done. If they reject it or accept it is up to them.

And what's the message again?

And what's the message again?
The message is that you can be born again. You can be a new creation in Christ.

2 Cor. 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Your message is flawed.
What message is that? The message that Jesus gave Himself for us, so that we could be redeemed?

Titus 2:14
who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Our faith is our evidence.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 Cor. 4:18
while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see
I see you chose the (guffaw!) KJV for your quote.
So let's take a minute and really consider what that is saying shall we?

Faith is the substance of things "hoped FOR". So let's see, faith is something we want to be true. What this is saying is that faith is EVIDENCE of something we HOPE to be true.

So if the only evidence you have is for something that you hope for, that's great for what it IS. And that IS, is: Not objective, and not indicative of physical evidences in the world around us. Faith is based on HOPE. Science isn't based on hope.

For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Perfect. But confusing. If God is infused in creation and we see God in creation, then what we are seeing is purping temporary; the instillment of God in creation is a temporary thing. But...sidetracking.....sorry
Evolution, ALL of scientific theory is WORKING within the temporal realm: Why do you keep missing that?
Faith has nothing to do with science.

Wonderful!

And this addresses creationism/evolution how, exactly?
There is a old and a new creation. If we belong to Christ, then we will be a part of the new creation.

Romans 8:21-22
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Imagine the impact if the dead were raised to never die again.

It would only have an effect on Earthly evolution if

a. They continue to breed after the resurection,
b. They continue to compete with non-resurected animals for resources

Given that we will all be in heaven when the resurrection happens, and the fact that it hasn't happened yet... I don't see how it has the slightest baring or relevance to the theory of Evolution.

Ok, serious question, not a flame, but an honestquestion as to wether it is even worth "debating" with you. But based on your behavior, your inability to stay on a topic, and your seeming troubles remebering what you discussed in the past, it seems possible.

JohnR7 have you been diagnosed with schitzophrenia or some other form of cognitive disorder?

I'm afraid the erratic and often completely tangental nature of threads with said member lead to me using the ignore function.

Not because I bear said member ill-will. Instead it was because I kept feeling like I was having a conversation with a kaleidoscope. Everytime I looked at the thread I would be looking at a completely different picture.
