I'm incredibly shocked that there isn't a Japan thread in the Asia section...

This is literally my favorite country in the world.
Trying to learn the language... it's as hard as fossilized poop!
Yes it all started with anime, but I became quickly interested in the Samurai, and japanese gardens, and especially..... SUSHI!

But yeah... Samurai rule... that's my favorite thing to learn about Japan... and youououou!?

I'm incredibly shocked that you didn't look about a dozen threads down the list and notice that there's been a Japan thread here since the Asian section opened...

I cannot tell you my favorite thing about Japan.

KONICHIWA!
I'm not Japanese but Texan :) Japan is my 2nd favorite country... we go there 2x a year.... luv sushi, oden, mochi, kobudo, the trains, the incredible politeness and all the ironies of the culture. Trying to learn the language but can't read yet. Nodashi, Chibaken rules! Act 1:8 しかし、聖霊があなたがたの上に臨まれるとき、あなたがたは力を受けます。そして、エルサレム、ユダヤとサマリヤの全土、および地の果てにまで、わたしの証人となります。」

Huh... I thought Noda was in Saitama... but I just looked at a map. I didn't realize Chiba cut up north so far.

Why in the heck do you like Noda City so much??? It's a subburb of Tokyo, and not even a main one at that. Does someone you know live there?

I have friends there - main reason. But it is a nice town. Quiet -- but full of life & history. Home to Kikkoman soy sauce... mmmmmmmmmm. Enough shops & all the needs of life. Haven't found a church there though. ^_^
Shibuya, Roppongi, Amote Sando(Harajuku) and Iidabashi all have English churches in Tokyo. All are accessable from Noda within an hour.

While we're on the subject, my Aunt has lived in Tokyo since I was a child. I have never been to Japan, but my Aunt shares the culture with us when she visits at home. My favorite part of her visit home is when she brings friends. I love the Japanese people. Someday I'll get to go there.

Why do you like Japan so much? I know some people like Japan just because of manga's and other anime's. It's kind of silly reason to like the Japanese culture, but I guess people are different.

Things people usually expect in the Japanese and its culture are not as you think any more unfortunately. Japan is one of the fast-changing country. We have lost many good-old-day things. But then that's exactly what's going on in the world...

Well, I personally like Japan because I find the Japanese culture very interesting. The culture held respect above most things, and the people are very nice. I also like the Japanese language, and how it expresses things. I just... like Japan and Japanese things. It's a little hard to explain, but I don't love Japan just because of its animes. Animes got me into loving Japan, but it means a whole lot more than just that to me now. I just like Japan in general.
