Wisdom and Responsibility

A while ago I was watching an international news item about the Premier of a Scandinavian country who was videoed partying irresponsibly (allegedly). She was just 36 at the time.

Being in our 50s and 60s doesn’t guarantee sensible behaviour. We wish! But as a general rule, we must question the wisdom of placing younger adults in primary positions of responsibility. This isn't ageism. It's just the wise thing to do.

Intelligence and knowledge should be bolstered by life experience, wisdom and common sense.

And more importantly:

"...if any of you [who belong to Christ] lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him" (James 1:5, CSB).
