Week 18......And the grift goes on

:musicnotes: and the grift goes on, on ,on, on, on

Trump has a history of grifting and fraud. His Trump University was a grift. His foundation was a fraud. His recent grift is his crypto coin - $Trump.
On Thursday night, Trump had a dinner for the top 224 buyers of his coin. Some were so happy to be invited, they wore masks to hide their identity, like:

Well, one who attended didn't seem very positive about it:

The price of President Donald Trump’s meme coin plunged 16% as of Friday morning, just hours after he hosted a black-tie gala at his Virginia golf club for its biggest buyers — an elite crowd that spent a combined $148 million on the token for the chance to be there.
It was billed as “the most exclusive invitation in the world.”......
The top 25 wallets were promised a private reception and guided tour. Others, such as 25-year-old Nicholas Pinto — whose dad drove him to the event in his Lamborghini — left underwhelmed and still hungry.
“The food sucked,” Pinto said. “Wasn’t given any drinks other than water or Trump’s wine. I don’t drink, so I had water. My glass was only filled once.”
Trump made only a brief appearance, Pinto said. “He didn’t talk to any of the 220 guests — maybe the top 25,” he said.
All in, the president was there for 23 minutes, Pinto said. Trump delivered a brief address rehashing old crypto talking points then left on a helicopter before taking any questions or pictures with his meme coin contest winners, he said.

His office insists it was a personal affair and not one Trump attended as president - but he used a podium with the White House seal on it.
Riiight....

Not feeling real perky but wanted to share a few things I came across this week. Jay Kou, sent an email from his The Status Kou substack account, and it included this:

Memorial Day weekend is a time to reflect and honor those that gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. The best way I can think of to pay my own respects is to recommit to fighting for the things they died for: freedom, democracy and peace.

For the first time in our history, we’re called upon as Americans to fight an enemy that threatens us not from outside our borders but from within our own government. Its weapons are not missiles, tanks and guns, but the dismantling our federal agencies, the capture and capitulation of the federal legislative branch, and disinformation super-fueled by a right wing media ecosystem, to name a few.
The threat is as real as any invading force because, like the fascists before them, these enemies would establish a government for the few, devoid of democratic freedoms and any protections of our cherished liberties.

Regarding Memorial Day, I saw this:

This is a sad holiday currently, because of the choice America made last November:

Our country sure needs prayer and for the caring and compassionate to stand up and stand firm.
