Vision Of Jesus

So while I was at a Baptist youth camp as a teenager I had just recently completed my first ever fast and moved from Kansas to Missouri (Springfield). I attended my last youth camp with my church I grew up with (the Baptist one I mention occasionally) in July that year and upon arrival in Springfield found our new church was about to go to theirs so I tagged along.

While at this new camp I heard the song, Shout to the Lord, for the first time and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! It was during a time of worship while this song was being played by the band that I closed my eyes and even remember raising my arms in worship. That's when things went a bit crazy, as my Baptist friends and teachers would tell me.

I saw a face, bright white in complexion. He had fire in His eyes and when He spoke to me, it appeared like a double edged sword was His tongue (Revelation 1:12-16). I could tell He was saying something to me, but I couldn't understand and I think I was able to communicate this to Him as He stopped talking and just looked at me. The face faded into what became a very bright and brilliant light. Out of this light a very serence and peaceful landscape appeared with one single tunnel in midview. It was made of rock and had a descending staircase that seemingly led into nowhere, I wasn't close enough to tell. Up out of this staircase though came a man who had a white robe on and a blue robe-like sash slung over His right shoulder. He looked a lot like Selva Rasalingam in the new Gospel of John movie. As He came up out of the staircase and approached me He had His arms stretched out wide. He stopped roughly 2-3 feet in front of me and just smiled. I remember falling to a knee in this vision, crying as I had an idea that this was Jesus, but was somewhat unsure because as I was taught, Jesus doesn't appear to people anymore. And again I was able to communicate it seemed as in this vision I reached my hand out and touched the scars on His hands. It was incredible! I knew instantly that I was interacting with Jesus! I asked Him, "Why Lord, why have you come to Me?" All He said to me was "Go to my people, Israel, and be My messenger." He then smiled one last time and everything disappeared and I came back into myself it seemed.

Only when I did I found that I was physically on one knee as in the vision, sobbing and crying uncontrollably as my youth pastor, friends, and counselors were trying to console me. I tried to tell them, I saw Jesus, I saw Him and promptly was told to be wary of such things as Jesus does not appear to us anymore. But I have NEVER forgotten that day.

Now I never had really read Revelation, let alone the passage concerning how Jesus appeared to the dear Apostle John in chapter 1 while he was worshipping. So I have never considered it to be just a forethought of something that was on my mind (as in I had just read it or whatever)
