Time is running out

Are you bored right now? Don't be. Because time is running out. Most of us don't realise until it is too late. Boredom is a luxury. If you are ever stuck in a dull moment, try to connect to the divine within. Do it before "the hour of our death, amen".
I can see now my parents life was oh so short. Special people yes, but also their lives in the scheme of things were like specs in the ocean.
Henri Nouwen said this life is just a brief interlude, to our eternal journey. It's an opportunity for all of us to discover the God within, dig deeper, get past our animalistic addictions and ruminations. Transcend. My father did this instinctively. He was no intellectual and in that regard, I think God was well-pleased. He didn't have deal with another egotistical Pharisee. I think God hates the sin of pride but somehow loves the sinner.
Anyway, as we get older, the bells of mortality seem to ring louder everyday. Hurry up. Do something with your life. Something meaningful. Stop worrying and start praying. Wake up as the Buddhists say but I think Jesus was saying it too. Wake up before you die like a zombie.
