  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's been a couple years since I was really active on CF. I posted semi-frequently in 2009 and before that, I hadn't posted since 2007. I reviewed some of my posts from back then, and I have to say that for some of them, I am surprised at myself, both in the positive sense and the negative. For anyone that I offended, I am sorry. When trying to stand up for my beliefs, I refused to filter what anger would come out and I unfortunately lashed out at people. Time has a way of changing people. I can only pray it has changed me. It's been 3 years, and I'm 22 years old now. I hope that I can exhibit more control in expressing my opinions and I pray that I can "speak the truth in love", rather than resulting to my passions.
