All the whiners out there complaining about religion being pushed on them may have a point, at least about being pushed into something. But those having the nerve to say that the radical golden rule is just a cute but impractical code of conduct ... well, they need to get their old wiring replaced.
The alternative to living by that golden rule exists, and it is the default setting for the world of man. The choice is on the individual to accept or deny it. The only control I have is not in forcing anyone to change, but power only to change myself. Others on the other hand, are all free to sleep in whatever bed they make and reap the rewards.
But for all their talk of having religion or moral codes pushed on them, I'd like to know... where is my right not to have the results of the ideals of mankind pushed on me? Why should others gain at my expense without my permission? We offer the Kingdom, but the world of man pushes itself on all.
What I give of myself is my choice. I am not a resource to be demanded of by others under whatever cow flop systems the self proclaimed 'leaders' of this world come up with, let alone the schemers and entrepreneurial parasites we encounter every day claiming they make the world great. That goes for the worldly that support them also.
Life is a two way street but those in charge know that if they give us some choices (all of which benefit them of course either way) most underlings being manipulated by the few will happily accept those faux crumbs of privilege, seeing them as sharing in the power that rules them while they are being kept underfoot.
The golden rule runs contrary to the will of man. It is the most powerful outside influence in this world and is no doubt overlooked by the powerful and seen as being irrelevant, while they themselves see the use of force and fear as a greater power than love.
