Seems to me people find "the slippery slope argument" illogical. Not up to academic rigour. Weak.
Yet I do think it applies in a lot cases.
People will behave badly once they know, the cat is out of the bag, no one is watching them, there are no consequences.
Marijuana can lead to taking harder drugs for instance. Once you are exposed to the drug world, chances are you going to meet someone who is into something harder.
A Church going Christian who doesn't take drugs is less likely to get into the harder stuff.
