The Root which moved the mountain
I have a large tree in my garden i inherited when i bought the house a few yrs ago.
It is right on the border with my neighbour and has now grown to quite a size, so much so that one or two of its roots have grown to over a foot in width and tilted my neighbours shed which was on a concrete base a foot thick. The roots grew underneath this base and moved it upwards and broke it.
He the neighbour had to dismantle the shed and with a chain saw cut through the massive roots back to the border with me before he could re concrete his shed base and re erect his shed.
Prayer is like this in its outworking in our lives.
As we commune with The Lord and share intimate moments in prayer praise and worship, where we don't rush to get done and just enjoy being with Him, a mystery happens unknown and secret within our souls which we are unawares of.
The Lord plants seeds within the soil of our hearts which are so tiny we hardly notice them or are even aware it is happening, until later on.
As we yield our hearts to Him (the soil) He sows seeds which are not even felt by the soil until later on when they from within start to swell out and push the soil aside taking a position of strength and growth out of no where it would seem.
Rom 8v2 talks about the law of the Spirit of Life which is in Christ Jesus.
This Law is at work in believers when the believer in a spirit of patient humility yields/waits upon The Lord in intimate communion.
The near invisible seeds are sown by the gardener in such soil which is prepared and yielded to His will alone being done in their lives.
I collected some seeds from the cones of the Black pine and planted them in pots two yrs ago. The seeds were tiny i mean tiny. Now there are four healthy young seedlings of 10-11 inches high. These trees will grow into massive fine looking evergreen Pines eventually. The large tree in my garden also was planted as a very small sapling originally.
The tiny seed in part becomes a mighty root which is hidden from view in the main yet through God can move and break down mighty hard objects which had always been immovable before.
This law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus not only sets us free but will set others free also, If we will seek Him in the secret place looking for nothing in return, letting that mystery of life sow in secret within us, whatever He desires, as we pursue a life of intimacy with Him.
Matt 17v20 As a grain of mustard – mountain moving takes place
Lk 17v6
Seeds, growth, eventual maturity all at different times, some instant like water cress, others a few months, some a few yrs, or many yrs.
The Temple
Jesus went into the Temple with the purpose of casting out all that offended, the money changers, the animals, doves etc because they had made His Fathers house into some thing other than it was intended to be.
In like manner we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit and Jesus like wise strides into our inner halls/rooms with the purpose to cast out all that offends, wanting us to be/become what He intended for us to be.
The Whip in His hand is hard for us to bear on our back of unbelief, yet He wields it in deepest love to turn us away from the idols we have set up in His house.
The Money which means so much to us He overturns and it fly’s away like the air bourn doves.
He finds us on our knees, not in submission but in seeking for the lost coins which He over turned .
He cries out to us do you not know, that whom I love I chasten and would not otherwise bother if You were not My blood bought child.
