Reading the law and trying to act it out isn't enough. The point of the law is to kill the fleshly nature. The law applies to the Romans 7:20 transgressor living within the body. Applying this to someone who is not born again is wrong though, because the body consciousness is who they are. However, for born again believers there is a separate consciousness because the body consciousness was "killed" by you being born again. The sin in the body clings to sensations and your old memories and may try to form a separate identity, but this is fake.
.
The proper use of the bible as a law is to apply it spiritually to the body consciousness as fire that breaks the rocks to pieces. (Jeremiah 23:29) However, if all of your understanding of the scriptures is that "the sinner must die" then judging without mercy will result in you being judged without mercy and it will hurt and continue to hurt.
.
Once the fire sears the flesh and breaks through the hardened heart and plants the "good seed" it is important to remember that the heart of such an organism needs a heart that is like God's, remember what the bible says about love for such a time.
.
But who is that crazy? It was something I did to apply the scriptures to myself, and was surprised when the "seed" flowered.
.
Be content with what you have and don't push yourself too much, thank God continually for his mercy and love that is endless in the melody of your heart.
