The Great Comission

Today I spent a little time in trying to let others know about Jesus.
After I was freed from drug addiction it wasn't long until I realized that just living clean wasn't the end of it. I knew that witnessing and personal evangelism were very important for a Christian, I had always thought that there was a greater emphasis on clean and holy living than witnessing.
Trying to share my faith fills a much needed void and gives me a great amount of joy. Yet it is as Spurgeon called it, "an irksome task". Every reason not to witness often floods my mind, and it only takes stepping out on faith to overcome that. And when I have witnessed, or passed out a gospel tract in a moment of fear, I find great peace and what I believe is a cleansing of every evil thing that I accumulated (thought wise) in all my time as a drug addict.
My daughter was with me at one time, and I enjoy the opportunities to ease her into knowing that there is such a thing as the Great Comission.
Pray that the Lord would continue to guide me and in love and tenderness, and abide with me as I move more and more toward a consistent habit of personal witness.
