(ive been asked who wrote this by some -I wanted to add its the result of a conversation between myself and another member who was skeptical about christianity - because these questions are often asked by those seeking answers I wanted to share the questions and responses for the benefit of witness)
How do you go to heaven? :
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'' 4. Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?'' 5. Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water (physical birth) and the Spirit (Born of the spirit as a child of God), he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Now you might ask , "Arent we all children of God ?" No. We are born spiritually dead in sin , we can become children of God through Christ .
Matthew 18:3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Romans 9:8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name: 13. who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Now you might ask " How can I become a child of God (be born again)? And "Can I earn being a child by my works or being "good" ? No :
John 6:28 Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?'' 29. Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.''
"What do I need to believe ?" That Jesus Christ came to save the lost by paying for the sins of the world through death so that we could be raised with Him to life , His life which was without sin. If you believe that He came , lived a sin free life without breaking one of Gods laws , died for you on the cross to pay for your sins , and rose again to life on the third day , and you confess before Him that you are ready to turn from sin (your own way) and receive His Lordship over you , exchanging His life for yours , you will be saved , hence born again spiritually , raised to life like He was .
Matthew 18:11 "For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.
John 6:38 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39. "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40. "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.''
Luke 1:77 to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins
Luke 24:46 Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47. "and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (born again)10. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. 11. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.''
Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,14. who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
We were purchased from death to life through His blood and if we receive it , we are cleansed and born to life as a child of God and will inherit the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 26:28 "For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Acts 20:28 "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24. being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25. whom God set forth to be a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
26. to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
10. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 12. Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned
13. (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
15. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been made near by the blood of Christ.
Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14. in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
So now you know what you need to know to inherit the kingdom of heaven , are you ready to repent of a dead life and receive a new one in exchange?
