Revelation 6

Beginning with chapter 6 will begin the discussions which are so often misunderstood or forced out of context. The events which follow will be broken down into separate events so as to be able to understand the meaning more correctly. Many have taken what occurs next in the book of Revelation and distorted it badly. Here now are the events which pertain to man; for the number six is prominent here.

The Seven Seals

The creation of Genesis was done in six days Six being the number assigned to man and all that pertains to Him. .

Rev 6:1-2 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals
And I heard, as it were the noise of thunder
One of the four beasts saying
Come and see

And I saw
And behold a white horse
And He that sat on Him had a bow
And a crown was given unto Him
And He went forth conquering
And to conquer

Rev 6:3 And when He had opened the second seal
I heard the second beast say
Come and see

And there went out another horse
That was red
And power was given to Him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth
And that they should kill one another
And there was given unto Him a great sword

Rev 6:5-6 And when he had opened the third seal
I heard the third beast say
Come and see
And I beheld and lo a black horse
And He that sat on Him had a pair of balances in His hand

The word balance used above has also the meaning of the scale of The Law of Israel. Seeing that it is the Old Israel being dealt with here, it would point to the judgment of the Jews which sat under the Law of the time that Jesus was in Judeah.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say
A measure of wheat for a penny
And three measures of barley for a penny
And see You hurt not the oil and the wine

Rev 6:8 And when he had opened the fourth seal
I heard the voice of the fourth beast say
Come and see

And I looked
And behold a pale horse
And His name that sat on Him was Death

And Hell followed with Him

Hell -- The word hell here has the meaning of the place of the dead, the grave. It does not mean a place of fire and torment as is normally taught. Here is an example of what the apostle Paul stated:

Php_4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth
To kill with sword ( The word of God)
And with hunger (lack of the word)
And with death (destination of not adhering to the word of God)
And with the beasts of the earth ( the spiritually wicked ones)

Gen_3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil (cleaver) than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, has God said, You shall not partake (eat) of every tree of the garden?

Isa 29:1-12 5 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, The city where David dwelt (Jerusalem)
Add you year to year
Let them kill sacrifices

Yet I will distress Ariel (Jerusalem)
And there shall be heaviness and sorrow
And it shall be unto Me as Ariel

And I will camp against You round about
And will lay siege against You with a mount
And I will raise forts against You

And You shall be brought down
And shall speak out of the ground
And Your speech shall be low out of the dust (unclean speech)

And Your voice shall be as of one that has a familiar spirit
Out of the ground
And Your speech shall whisper out of the dust

Moreover the multitude of Your strangers shall be like small dust
And the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passes away
Yes it shall be at an instant suddenly

You shall be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder
And with earthquake
And great noise
With storm and tempest

And the flame of devouring fire
And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel
Even all that fight against Her and Her munition
And that distress Her
Shall be as a dream of a night vision

Expanding on Isa 29:26 :
You shall be visited of the LORD of hosts
With thunder
And with earthquake
And great noise
With storm
And tempest
And the flame of devouring fire

The LORD of hosts.
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished
And all the host of them

This host is the heaven Beings which reside in the heaven above.

A distressful situationion .

It shall even be as when an hungry man dreams
And behold
He eats but he awakes and his soul is empty

Or as when a thirsty man dreams
And, behold, he drinks but he awakes

And behold
He is faint
And his soul has need (appetite)

So shall the multitude of all the nations be
That fight against mount Zion

Stay yourselves
And wonder
Cry you out and cry

They are drunken but not with wine
They stagger but not with strong drink

For the LORD has poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep
And has closed Your eyes

The prophets and your rulers
The seers has he covered

And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed

Which men deliver to one that is learned saying
Read this I ask you
And he says I can not
For it is sealed

Isa 29:12-24 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned saying
Read this I ask you

And he says
I am not learned

Wherefore the Lord said
For as much as this people draw near Me with their mouth
And with their lips do honor Me
But have removed their heart far from Me
And their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men

Therefore behold
I will proceed to do a marvelous work among This people
Even a marvelous work and a wonder

For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish
And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid

Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD
And their works are in the dark
And they say who sees us
And who knows us

Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay
For shall the work say of Him that made it
He made me not

Or shall the thing framed say of Him that framed it
He had no understanding
Is it not yet a very little while ( it will be far off)

And Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field
And the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book
And the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity
And out of darkness (spiritual evilness)

The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD
And the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel

For the terrible one is brought to nothing
And the scorner is consumed
And all that watch for iniquity are cut off

That make a man an offender for a word
And lay a snare for him that reproves in the gate
And turn aside the just for a thing as nothing

Therefore thus says the LORD
Who redeemed Abraham

Concerning the house of Jacob

Jacob shall not now be ashamed,
Neither shall his face now wax pale

But when He sees His children
The work of My hands
In the midst of Him

They shall sanctify My name
And sanctify the Holy One of Jacob
And shall fear the God of Israel

They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding
And they that murmured shall learn doctrine

From all the above it can be understood that it is Israel of old that the Lord is dealing with here, and in the book of Revelation. One can not understand the book of Revelation without first understanding what took place in the Old Testament. There is nowhere written anything about the Gentiles; for they were not brought into the body of Christ until Jesus Christ sent Paul to them to preach the New Testament. The New Testament did not exist until Paul began to preach it after being send by Jesus Christ to do so.

1Co 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.

2Co 3-6 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.

Why then does man take the Old Testament gospels and call Them the New Testament? Because they teach falseness and not spiritual truth.

2Ti 2:14-16 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

Study to shew yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed,rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Indeed, so many false teachings have been generated by not properly understanding this book of Revelation as well as other books of the Bible. How many times I have heard this: My Pastor says! Yes, But what does the Spirit say?

So it is, that this book of Revelation can not be understood if one does not understand the Old Testament writings that deal with it's context. It is not an easy task to spend years of study on the Old Testament writings before one begin to understand what is taking here, and for whom.

People have a tendency to rely on others to do the work they are told to do in reference to the Bible scriptures. You will reap what you sew! Consider the parable that Jesus used with the ones that were sent out to take care of the gardens.

Where it read: For My names sake is better read as: For By the reason of My authority. That authority was given by His Father, God Almighty.

Rev 6:9-11 And when he had opened the fifth sea

I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God
And for the testimony which they held

Today, Christ is our testimony. In the time spoken of in the book of Reveltation it was Their testimony.

And they cried with a loud voice saying
How long O Lord holy and true
Do You not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth

And white robes were given unto every one of them
And it was said unto Them
That They should rest yet for a little season
Until their fellow servants also and Their brethren

That should be killed as They were should be fulfilled

In the above verses is seen again the reference to Israel and the disciples which preached the words which Jesus Christ gave to them to preach to those in Judeah. They never went to the Gentiles who were separated out from the Jews, and set aside for the apostle Paul to go and teach to.

Mat 24:8-11 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and You shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

As was stated above, the disciples never went into all the nations of the world, they were sent only to the people of Judeah, of the house of Israel. It was the Jews which did not believe in Jesus Christ which was to torment these disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mat_10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Mat_24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

Mar_13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Rev 6:12 And I beheld when

He had opened the sixth seal ( Six, the number pertaining to mankind)
And lo

1-There was a great earthquake
2-And the sun became black as sackcloth of hair
3-And the moon became as blood;

Most that read the Book of Revelation read the above as literal events, they are not, they are figures of speech. That is, where the earthquake and sun and moon are used, they are not literally the Sun, and Moon.

To begin we look at the Sun and moon to find what they really are.

Gen 37:9-11 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said
Behold I have dreamed a dream another dream
And behold

The sun
And the moon
And the eleven stars
Made obeisance to Me

Gen 37:10-11 And he told it to his father
And to his brethren

And his father rebuked Him
And said unto Him
What is this dream that You have dreamed

Shall I (The Sun)
And your mother (The Moon)
And your brothers (The stars)
Indeed come to bow down ourselves to You to the earth

And his brethren envied Him
But his father observed the saying

His father observed the saying; He took it into deep thought.

Gen_1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

Here are other figures of speech used in the Bible scriptures. The Sun, being Jacob, the moon being Jacob's wife, and the stars being His brothers. Now consider what happens in the following verses pertaining to this vision.

And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth The tribes of Israel became earthly.
Even as a fig tree cast her untimely figs Fig tree, the figure of speech for Israel
When she is shaken of a mighty wind The Spirit of God

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together
And every mountain and island were moved out of their places

The heaven departed, the old nation of Israel. Mountains,The High Rulers of Israel.

1-And the kings of the earth
2-And the great men
3-And the rich men
4-And the chief captains
5-And the mighty men
6-And every bondman
7-And every free man

Seven, the number of spiritual perfection. There was to be a spiritual cleansing taking place. Who tried to hide themselves here? The spiritually corrupted leaders.

Hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains
And said to the mountains and rocks
Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne
And from the wrath of the Lamb

Notice here that first they desire to be hid from Him who sets on the throne. Then from the Lamb. Christ Jesus is setting on His throne next to His Father. It says however, And from the wrath of the Lamb. So it is God Almighty sitting on His throne and then the Lamb's watch which came unto Them.

Rev 6:17 For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Notice that there are a total of six seals given here in Revelation. This then points to the events which take place concerning Judeah. For the Israel of old had already been disbursed throughout the world.

John 8:21-30 Then said Jesus again unto Them

I go My way
And you shall seek Me
And shall die in your sins
Where I go you cannot come

Then said the Jews
Will He kill himself?

Because He said
Whither I go you cannot come

And He said unto Them
Yu are from beneath
I am from above

You are of this world
I am not of this world

I said therefore unto You
That You shall die in Your sins
For if You believe not that I am He
You shall die in your sins

Then said they unto Him
Who are You?

And Jesus said unto Them
Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning

I have many things to say and to judge of You
But He that sent Me is true
And I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him
They understood not that He spoke to them of the Father

Then said Jesus unto Them
When You have lifted up the Son of man
Then shall you know that I am He
And that I do nothing of Myself
But as My Father has taught Me I speak these things

And He that sent Me is with Me
The Father has not left Me alone
For I do always those things that please Him

As He spoke these words many believed on Him

It should be very clear by now that Jesus came unto the Jews of Judeah and not to the entire world which includes the Gentiles. The Gentiles were the sheep of the other fold which Jesus said He had to bring into the fold. This is why He sent the apostle Paul to teach them the word of truth, Christ crucified for the remission of the sins of man.

Why then do men persist on taking what was written for Israel, and to Israel, and apply it to themselves in their time? Why, because of the lack of spiritual knowledge of the scriptures of the Bible.

Mat 22:20-21 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They said unto him, Caesar's. Then saith He unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

This should show the reader how much is required to properly understand this book of Revelation. When man starts putting other works in with it then the book becomes spiritually corrupted to the point that you have the mess that has been given to it today.

Revelation contains things from the beginning of the creation of Israel in Genesis to the time of John's spiritual view given to Him for His time period, not ours. Beyond, for not all had been done in Judeah as was to be in John's time. John was to warn the seven churches of what was to come in their time, not ours.
