As a New Year is approaching, a lot of resolutions are being pondered among many. I don't bother with resolutions as much as daily goals. Each day given, I strive to be a better person than the day before. To make my light shine a little brighter and to help others all that I can. Most of all, to do so without hindrance. In a world that is filled with much hate, especially toward Christians, I feel we must be careful of how we carry ourselves. We must be Christlike at all times, love unconditionally, accept others without judgement, while still living, speaking and walking as Christ would have us to. We are to teach others the gospel, however, there are ways in doing so without turning people farther away. A person can point out scripture all day long, but to the carnal-minded, it is jibberish. This is one reason Jesus spoke in parables. To give others a better understanding of what he was saying. I usually do this while talking to some. I am straight forward with my words, yet I tread carefully. I want to get my point across without hindrance, as well as, without sugarcoating. I do not look at others and tell them they are going to hell if they do this or don't do that. I do let it be known, the reasons I choose to do or not do something. When asked why I feel something is wrong, I then refer to scripture and apply that to the subject. More times than not, that gets people thinking. I feel that trying to shove beliefs down someone's throat is a wrong approach. Prayer can move mountains and prayer can help alter someone's heart. Therefore, I try my best to live as God would have me to and be a good example to others daily. I take my experiences and apply them as tools for understanding. I talk about how great God is and what He has done for me. That is my doorway and prayer is the key.
That is why I spend more time in the cb than the forums. It's amazing how many people a person can help in a day just by having idle chitchat. You see, that light chat usually leads someone to reach out in hopes to find encouragement and understanding.
