Back from the clouds and down to me (& my hubby). So I guess if there isn’t one with an apostolic gift, stronger gift of leadership, or a highly anointed evangelist (but like I said if they’re not mature enough, then they probably won’t be the leader of the group even if the evangelism anointing is stronger). Ah, this is where my husband & or I come in/ step in /fit in. We often end up having more evangelism/outreach experience and we don’t have to spell that all out, it doesn’t take much for people to believe us (not that it’s not true, but we don’t have to pass out our resume’ or something lol).
Could be many people don’t have as much as confidence in this area as us. It’s good if people who don’t have a lot of experience &/ or confidence in doing outreach still come out to get involved, that shows they have a lot of love for the Lord and want to please Jesus. That too is inspirational... When you may not have many people that show up, but then these people try to get involved because they have the compassion & or just out of obedience. Too many who have that evangelism gift don’t think they need or should be on a team just because they are out doing stuff on their own different times….
It’s hard, I know we both have a strong sense for evangelism, we both always “feel” it and want to get involved in some way. How “good” at it are we though? I mean if the gift of evangelism means leading a lot of people to a commitment to Jesus, forget it. We need to join another ministry. If planting & watering seeds counts, that’s another story. If it’s about trying to let people know about Jesus, directing people towards him, bringing people to church, dealing with their salvation issues… then we’re probably in the right place/calling. Are we just doing what all believers should be doing? Why does it seem to burn in us more than others, why is it so at the forefront of our minds? Why then do we have more experience in this area than a lot of people, if we weren’t called to it? Have we been wasting so much time in the wrong area?
I guess I do comfort myself in that verse : 5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
Soo anyway, those gifts at the top of my tests are, these come out in various order, but usually the same ones:
Discernment
Giving
Mercy
Faith
Poverty
Intercession
Poverty
Exhortation /Encouragement
Writing
Giving
Since the whole purpose of me working on this was to pick between the prophetic & the pastor group (only 2 choices here). I mean I kind of knew, but the tests confirmed it again. Actually really I didn’t want to be in “prophetic group”- for various reasons I will unfold later. I wanted to be involved in the pastor group, it sounded like they were going to be doing a lot of cool and fun things. Seriously, I guess I’d prefer to be doing “pastor type” ministry than prophetic ministry (ha, whatever that is) Does it sound like I’m mocking? God I hope not. I’m grateful if God is working through me at all lol!
This is the summary of the problem, this is what the “prophetic group” is going to be doing:
The Prophetic Team
This team equips those who desire to develop prophetic gifts in the body and how to hear the voice of God. Team members have a burden on equipping and raising others up into prophetic maturity and calling.
The prophetic team creates an environment where revelation from the Holy Spirit is a priority, Acts 13:1-3
The primary role is to teach the body on how to hear the voice of God confidently and clearly, John 10:3-5
Conduct “How to Hear the voice of God Classes” for new believers and newcomers
* Examples of Prophetic Teams
Team members start prophetic prayer teams for Sunday morning and available during the week
Are available to assist with dream interpretation or applying personal prophecies
Deliverance and inner healing teams
Prophetic intercession teams
Available for public prophetic ministry at worship services
Train people how to move in the prophetic gift through prophetic seminars
* Guidelines For Prophetic Ministry
It is the role of the Prophetic Team to insure that prophecy is safe and encouraging, 1 Corinthians 14:3
They do this by establishing specific guidelines for that ministry. For example, no dates, fates, or mates.
The Prophetic Team releases mature team members for public gatherings
The team submits prophetic words to the Elders, Staff, and FiveFold team
Keep a journal of significant words to the congregation or ministry."
I laugh, because God was showing me some stuff awhile back about getting words and all, about prophets. I guess however I am “in the prophetic’, prophetess or not, it’s a personal thing. I mean maybe I shouldn’t think this way, but I “do” youth ministry, I “do” outreach. I don’t “do” the prophetic”.
If things come to me, they are just a by product of my relationship & communion with God. How would I teach something like that? I would think any gifted teacher could teach on the subject since it’s in the Bible. I don’t think one can teach “how to be a prophet”. I think either you have the gift from God or you don’t. This may sound bad, but I think people need to know a bunch more things first before a special “hearing the voice of God”. Not that it’s not important, but on a basic level it should be the same as talking to God, reading the Bible, giving, obedience etc..
If they mean on a “higher level”, again I think the body needs to get together some other lessons first (my opinion). Personally I don’t feel a deep burden or any burden really for people to be stirred up about “hearing the voice of God more or better”.
Next there’s the “giving out of words” at the altar or as I think of them- “personal prophecies on call”. Again, I hope I’m not mocking, but I’m just not into that, I personally don’t “operate” that way. Maybe not for others, but for me it feels like people are pulling at you like going to the circus or something and its like them thinking like, “ok, if you’re (or God is) prophetic- do a trick for me”…Give me some word! (and then I‘ll believe)”.
I think of when Satan told Jesus, if you’re really God turn these stones to bread”. I am on call, but to God. I’m not on call to the people (which is definitely not the way I think about outreach mercy). There is a difference though, I can help someone, just because it’s the right thing to do, and God is in it but the supernatural element to it may or may not be evident. Prophecy (and other gifts like miracles etc.) are supposed to be totally supernatural (of course could be demonically supernatural as well, a “knowing” that comes from demonic help).
I don’t feel I can whip that up myself, whenever or on a time clock. The real stuff God has given to me, has been according to His timetable, when He chose to give it to me.. Who knows maybe I don’t have enough faith. OK so then I don’t, and I don’t know how to get it for this. That’s the summary of that problem.
Prophetic intercession maybe, depending on what that means to them.
I think the only place in this where I’d feel comfortable/ have faith to operate in on a deliverance & inner healing team.
I do operate in discernment much quicker. Still not on call, like OK God show me something about this person… but I do see things about people/in people more frequently (that it could almost seem on call). I would need to see what they believe about deliverance first, as in what method (s) to do it by.
Also what does that mean, safe & encouraging? And, thankfully I don’t move in “mates” or “dates” but what exactly do they mean by “fates“? If it is what I think, I did get some “fate” type words and they did come to pass (were confirmed).
I think tomorrow I’ll post my beliefs on that. Ha and also a kind of prophetic resume’, that I may send to the pastor, to help him better understand where I’m at.
