  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Old Time Religion

I don't know about you but I long for a church experience that is not all razzle-dazzle. There are churches out there that do not subscribe to the razzle-dazzle of modern Christianity but they seem so lacking in power and biblical truth. They seem to be more interested in denominational purity rather than biblical purity.

When I was at Bible College, I did a personal study of revivals. With so many books on the subject in the College Library, what was there not to like?

Two that stood out was the Welsh revival and the 50s revival in Argentina, a book written by Ed Miller who was right in the thick of it.

What was the overwhelming sense I got from studying this subject? Simple. You don't mess with God. The power and presence of God was so overwhelming, you either got right with him or you missed the boat.

When was the last time you attended a meeting with the power and presence of God in attendance that you could not stand in his presence? A long time ago I bet.

Today, we are so devoid of God presence in our meetings, if he showed we would be flabbergasted and probably not know how to cope with it. If he did come in power, we would probably tell him he would have to wait until we have taken up the offering.

Once we had got the important things done then maybe we would let him do his thing. Am I being cynical and facetious? Yes, I am because I have seen it happen. The power of God began to fall and bang, we had to put it aside because its the programme that is important.

Someone said, "If you don't want revival you won't have it." Are we not seeing revival because the truth is we don't want it as it is too costly for us?
