Those of you who don't have children will understand. I sometimes see my own deceased father's smile in my dog. My dog has a divine purpose. To keep me and my wife grounded. Grounded in love. Grounded in knowing how to relax, chill out, stop worrying for Heaven's sake. Live in the now my Buddhist dog will say. I'm trying to convert him to Christianity but he wont have any of it. But his form of meditation looks suspiciously like napping!
So important are our pets.I heard on the news the other day that someone lost two pets in a house fire. Ten years ago, that wouldn't have bothered me. But since we 've had our first pet, I've been on a steep learning curve. To lose my dog like that would devastate me. To lose my dog period! How precious are they! They make, returning to the home, a more meaningful event. Of course my partner is more important but somehow, I want to elevate this guy to a higher status. I want to show my gratitude to him and God of course.
