More thoughts...

Glenn Beck had a good show today ( i often like his stuff when it comes to politics & us history but not when he talks about religion & or humaity).
He said many of the same things I was thinking (and previously posted).
At the end he mentioned about a challenge to all to reject violence as a responce- by all, all parties & ideologies.

Would Obama be able to join on to that? Not only him but many of his followers? Sure they would when it's not their pet causes. Can they say no to violient protests etc.- when it comes to war, animal rights, environmental, against big government, gay rights? Would he\they say no to ending statements like wishing Jerry Falwell or James Dobson would get some horrible disease & die, Cheney getting shot etc.??

So what about this killer. I have a bunch of thoughts (seeing as how I might've liked to be a clinical psychologist, doing assesments).
I think a new just added component that bears a lot of weight in my mind, is the newly found "occultic shrine" he built in his back yard. It had a skull, candles, rotting fruit etc. I'm not sure what it exaclty sybolizes or exactly what he was trying to do... but I firmly believe that if one messes with the occult it opens the door for demonic influence against one's mind. I have seen many examples personally and from others testimonies to show that when someone gets into the occult, it usually brings emotional psychological changes into that persons life, such as: depression, extreme anger &\or hatered, and or psychotic thing & or behavior.

I'm sure if there was, research would show that once someone got into the occult world wether through obessesion with heavy metal or "dark music", witchcraft, occultic or new age stuff- that those peoples personality undergo changes (and not for the positive).

I guess I've been doing a mini study from what information I can gather. First so far it shows this young man didn't seem to have personality problems or psychiatric issues until he turned young adult. Even into high school he seemed like an "average kid" with typical "average" interests. Nothing extreme. No horror stories or nothing horrible. The stories have come in though after he became an adult and went into college.
There are reports of obnoxious, rude, strange behavior. Now with no previous record of such behavior, or even of such dating back into childhood the evidence points to that we're not dealing with an "antisocial" here. Even though some might like to say that because of him becoming loner like and his anti government beliefs.
As I've read and studied there are usually various disorders & such that have problems with violence - Antisocial personality disorder, Schizophrenics particularly paranoid types, Bi-Polar, and those with BPD, I would also add I believe Narcs in regard to abuse and if co with ASPD then that makes for a very dangerous sociopath type.
Since ASPD & Bipolar usually have signs earlier in life (say like with the Korean, school shooter) and this guy doesn't show the symptoms of BPD or NPD, it's pretty clear to go with the Sichizoprenic paranpid type.
It makes sense too because of the onset "style" often fairly suddenly in the twenties.
It seems many of those who become paranoid schizophrenic are highly intellegent types as well.

I would gather that also possibly his drug use may have sparked it (or sparked it to go off earlier). I also contend (speaking as a Bible believing Christian) that his occult involvement either fuled it or made it worse- possibly the violence component.

So aside from using this tragedy to ignite passion againt guns, speaking out against the government, conservatives and the GOP- people should wake up to the truth and put politics aside. This guy happened to have a schzphrenic onset and he happened to be into political & philosphical thinking.
The latter isn't what set him off or caused him to shoot people. Since this psychological\spiritual thing was going on within him- if he wasn't an avid reader, if he didn't think about ideologies & philosophies... he could have become a John Hinckly then or the guy who shot John Lennon. Say someone who was just into movies & media etc..
If the other issues are there, it isn't about someones ideology ( in these cases) or politics. With one set of IQ's and mental interests you get this guy, or a Unibomber, with another you get a John Hinckly or Son of Sam.
Am I saying that though & idelogy doesn't matter, of course not, but I'm trying to get down to- "who might become violent or not". The media is trying to come up with its ways to predict and prevent these people from these acts of violence- so how is that possible?
I think basically those who commit acts of violence do fall into these groups I mentioned. On the other hand I'm not saying all those with BPD, BiPolar or Schizophrenia are violent. And, though most with APSD do violate laws but not murder (same that not most with NPSD are physically violent).

So by stopping the flow of thought & discourse you will not stop the psychologically driven. If you keep quiet about one thing something else might set them off, or they might just be set off internally by whatever. I agree that graphic things should be toned down... but not that the government should step in and become the thought police like over the FCC and Internet and try to control everything.

I know that there are people out there with wacky ideas (like about UFO"s, ha but how many think there are ufo's "out there"- a bunch of people) there are people out there with wrong ideas, even people with destructive ideas...but does that make them violent, especially to society at large? I believe my above argument show no.
So by shutting down websites, talk radio etc- that isn't going to stop random acts of violence (who are by people with psycological\spiritual problems).

Even as a Christian, I know though that people have a "right" to their own destructive, wrong & or wacky ideas. I don't beleive in the Crusades and or what Muslims try to do- that doesn't make for "true believers" and that's really what God wants. People have to decide for themselves, from their own minds & hearts, before it becomes "real".
This past yr. I even have been trying to sort out the whole balance of control (peoples personal rights) vrs. what's best for the public\safety issues. I have to admit some points that those (as I previously thought- wacky ) liberatarians are vaild.
People can use the cry of "safety" and run right over individual rights.... so I'm still sorting that out.

This guy shouldn't been allowed to buy a gun (but then who's to say if he really wanted to he couldna got one illegally). Other than that, his problems were fairly recent and nothing seemingly extreme ( that's come out so far in the news) for someone to say this guy is a danger to himself or others- put him away.
Though some want to say angrily- or why didn't whoever do something and heed the warning signs, sometimes it's nto that easy.
We know of people who have had tons more problems & issues. People with personality issues, people who are loners, people with substance problems, people who are connected to an abuser, people who are depressed, people who have non-violent records... do these people go out and shoot anyone???

I think it would help to have stricter gun laws (but not take away everyones rights own guns), have officials hire their own bodyguards & protection (even if they have to take a cut in pay for the sake of their own safety).
To try to predict which of those with problems & or psychological issues, which ones are going to shoot people- that is much harder.
