These are ohrases made to conceal blasphemy and a lot are prevalent still in our culture today. Even though our society in general doesn't mind people taking the Lord's name in vain. Many, many Christians say some of these minced oaths, especially when shocked or grumbling.
I feel that these are just as bad as outright blaspheming because I get the same hurt feeling when someone does it that I get when someone uses the Lord's name in vain.
