I wanted to write down these thoughts so that I don't lose them (especially at any point soon).
I was watching this conference, focusing on the supernatural. I realized early this speaker was going deep. I hadn't seen this guy before but what he was saying fit with things God had been telling me, that I was going to write about but just have put off.
One thing was the very same phrase God had me think on, over & over...
and then funny enough this topic came up also, a lot, recently, in a natural way (in the natural).
This teacher was saying a ton of heavy things. The key word had to do with the fact that Jesus did, and we should also- live from the inside out...not the other way around.
We should be like thermostats not thermometers (the exact word God had given me). Since we have the creative life of God in us we can and should change the atmosphere around us- not the other way around.
This also fits into a psychological perspective, of not allowing ourselves to be so affected by others and troublesome circumstances..
He mentioned a whole bunch of scriptures that talk about how we aren't of this world, that this isn't our kingdom, this is not where our real life is. We shouldn't be moved by that which we see, the things in the natural realm.
God creates (and always has, out of who He is) and now we carry His Spirit (& joined with ours) we too can create/birth/ bring forth reality & destiny- that which was known by Him (from the beginning).
We carry our own futures within us. We shouldn't be waiting for something to happen "out there" but rather to come out from within. As the one scripture says- "the kingdom of God is within you" (if you've been born again by God's Spirit)
And, as other verses talk of how we already have all things-for life and godliness (again within us). We are not so much waiting for it to come but, for it to come out of us.
The key for this, the bridge between heaven & earth is faith.
Since "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
What does this being a thermostat "look" like? How does this come about?
Well, first I thought of the inverse, which is pretty common.:
I am reminded of the miserable & discouraging person who brings that heaviness into an atmosphere and others are brought down as well, the heaviness comes down and spreads like a dark cloud.
Or, the base person who comes and instead of taking things to a higher level, lowers them, reducing the talk & focus to money, greed and materialistic aims. People lose focus and stupefy themselves, getting caught up in a trip into La La land and distracted by all that glistens & the false security of the plastic bubble.
Or, how about those who carry the storm within themselves, and bring it home
unleashing it and others getting swept up into the tornado of chaos & anger- whether or not they really want to.
It's easy to see when someone is, has some attitudes, some presence within themselves, how this can be spread and how they can be like a thermostat. Yes, people can change an atmosphere, a setting, a home. Certainly they can major affect it just by their presence- by what they are carrying within themselves (what's alive and active in them).
What kinds of good things can we bring, good changes, more of the presence & glory of God?
Instead of the gloom & heaviness we can bring that spirit/attitude of praise, of hope, joy. It's not though to try to bring this but to carry it within abide in these things and then it will come out or show forth.
The same, we can carry a presence of faith, and I have felt this when others have brought this, when it was released.
We can carry the peace of God, trust in God, non anxiousness, non worry, non contention, non violence, that stillness, that waiting on God in patience, peaceful abiding in God.
Carry the "fear of God", reverence of God, conviction, holiness, the weight of His righteousness & glory, reality, truth, joy in obedience.
Carry the love of God, the completeness in knowing/receiving how much God loves you and conveying that love to others. Kindness, gentleness, forgiveness, forbearance, patience, humility.
Be filled with and carry zeal for the Lord, the hunger & desire for Him/to know Him, the fire, "the power", "the anointing", brokenness, humbleness, contrite spirit.
The urgency: zeal for the lost, urgency of the hour, zeal for the gospel, desire to reach the lost, fire & bowels of compassion, desire to serve/servants heart, desire to build up the kingdom of God, zeal to work until He comes, the burden of the Lord.
The love of the brethren, unity(of the Holy Spirit), fellowship, kindred spirit/ bond of the Spirit, one in the Spirit, lack of envy/selfish ambition/jealousy/competitiveness, servanthood, communion.
