I was reading the church bulletin yesterday morning and ran across a message at the very bottom saying that the womens ministry needs bakers.
I though yeah right I wish, baking for me is the number one nightmare! So I decided that when I get home Im going to call up dear ole granny and ask her if she would bake me a couple pies for the bake sale in Novemeber.
Then I decided that it was time for a Sunday afternoon adventure
. I took a big breathe and let out the agonizing sigh because something about mixing the dough and bashing it down and letting it rise just to bash is down and let it rise just to turn around and flatten it, just did not seem fun or worth it. Then it struck me....its not for me its for the church....so I dug out the cook book and skimmed through it to find a crust and filling receipt (after all I can't make something that is going to be sold before trying it out first, killing lovley church people....not a good idea).
I started the crust first and it was so easy I was sure I did something wrong. I moved on to the filling part and POW done, now all I had to do was roll it out and dump some filler in the pan and then slap on another pad of flat dough pinch it together stab it a couple of times and throw the contraption into the oven. *WHEW* and hour from start to finish and its done. That was easy now time to feed it to my hubby and neighbor....don't get me wrong my dear neighbors were first

Well I talked to dear hubby this morning so I know that he is alive and kicking, but haven't seen the neighbors until now and well they are still breathing and looking good so the little contraptions that I call "apple pie" must be alright! And what do you know....I didn't catch anything on fire Wooooo Hooooooo!
It was so fun and exciting that Im cooking more tonight
oh happy day! Hope my family is really hungry because I found a bunch of things they get to try after I make them. Im not garanteeing that they will be a live at the end of the week though, each thing comes with an eat at your own risk label.
