  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just Stop It!

Just stop doing it!

One day I was wondering why it is so easy to judge others harshly. I know I can fall into that trap, especially when it is a 'group'. Again, I wondered, what would Jesus say to me about this:

So I begin:

My son, Christians have a habit of judging those harshly who sin in ways that they do not. In doing this they forget their own sins and failures. Any kind of judgment that comes from a place of anger, resentment, and yes hypocrisy is often the greater sin. I meant what I said my son, remove the log from your own eye first.

I the Lord am the only one who can judge the interior of my children in truth. Anyone else who does it goes against my will. To sin is like taking a knife and stabbing oneself in the heart. What bleeds out is love, and if it bleeds enough, the heart becomes devoid of love and dies.

On the cross, I could forgive all because I see into the hearts of each man and woman and understand all. That is why my judgments are never unjust but always based on love and compassion. I came to save not to condemn. Mankind is the one who does that. A soul who rejects me, does so freely, after a long loving pursuit by me.
So when it comes to judging the interior of others; well, just stop it!--Br.MD
