( I originally saved this as a draft a couple days ago, but I'm not sure if it's posted or not, can't get it to show it's out o draft mode)
Um sweaty & yuck would be good choices if they were in the list of moods...
I'm getting a bunch of stuff, piecing it together about, love...
Right now I feel it slipping from my mind(unlike this morning)...ug (Lord let it come back to me)
Luke 6
32"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. 33And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. 34And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. 35But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.
Matthew 5:
46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Romans 5:
6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
It's not easy but that's the way it goes, or should go.
It's easy to love someone when they are treating you that way. We were once watching a show about gans and I pointed out to one of my kids. Look some of them do have love for their family & friends. I remember that, even from hanging around different people. True there are some that would even sell off their own mother... some are totally heartless & without mercy & or pity. But as that verse is talking about most people in the world can be caring, sometimes or under certain circumstances, with certain people...
Some of these gangbangers try to take care of their mothers & or siblings, they may be loyal to their frieds and those who have done something for them... yes but then they can shoot up someone at a gas station or not blink when they kill someone they don't even know just for wearing the wrong outfit/colors.
Yea, that's what the world does, but we as Christians are called to something higher. I'm trying to remind myself of that. Remind myself of why to do things...Kill the flesh
2 Corinthians 12:
15And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
...Yes I have so found this to be true, and the answer to many things (having to do with relationships) in my life!
Then before that I was listening to a preacher who was teching about how we are supposed to be / do things to express the image of Jesus (like Jesus was the expressed image of the Father). - a reason to do things.
Then someone said to me (this is how they thought, not that theor perception was right on) "why should they do something for someone (me) if that person is unthankful and grateful.
I was like (among other things) "Well aren't you supposed to be doing it for God, because God says that's the way you should be." - point 2.
I also meditate on one of my fave. parts in the Bible where a bunch of people had been following Jesus around, many of them were from the group he had fed (physically) out in the wilderness. So here he had been with this great group who were following him, seemed to appreciate him, and be supportive of his mission. Ha but then he said some "hard things" and almost everybody went away...
Yes the truth is hard to take...
John 6:
59These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
62What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. ......
65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
