I do not have angelic words to sing. I do not have poetic words to write. All I want to do is to praise you Lord Jesus. All that matters is the here and now. The past is just that and not worth dwelling on. I am free from all that pain, hurt, depression, etc. Though the scars are real and deep, they are healing from the inside out.
My eyes are dry. My heart is full of love. My soul is dancing for joy. My mind is clear and the fog has lifted. Where once I was in the pit of despair, I am now free to love, laugh, sing, dance, and give all praise to the Lord. The Lord Jesus has saved me from all the pain and hurt and replaced it with joy, love, and peace, God’s perfect peace.
I understand now that Jesus was always with me, loving me, walking with me, holding me, carrying me, protecting me. Jesus loves me for who I am. It does not matter if I am the perfect weight and height. It does not matter if I have the perfect job or if I am the perfect mother. Jesus loves me where I am at now. I know that I am not perfect and that I do strive each day to be better, however I do know that it is a process and the journey is just as important as the destination.
We all need to look in the mirror and find five things we like about ourselves every day and then remember that Jesus loves all the parts of us mind, body, heart, and soul. We are children of God, made in his image, and not trash to be thrown away. God does not make mistakes and once we see that then we will be ok.
As I look at myself in the mirror, I find that I am beautifully created, smart, talented, a good mother, and a good friend. In addition, I am happy with who I am right now, this very moment and not looking to change anything to be better, or thinner, or happier.
At the end of the day, if you cannot love yourself as you are, you will be miserable. If Jesus can love you where you are at then you can too. Just remember that and no one can take that from you. People will say and do what they do and the devil will try to bring you down however, take this moment to just pray and praise the Lord Jesus and let Him remind you of how beautiful, wonderful, talented, and just plain lovely you are. Let Jesus be your guide. For Jesus knows far better than we will ever know. If Jesus is right about everything else, then shouldn’t he be right about you?
