When Jesus told us to be the light of the world I never imagined that extended to work life. I always joked like they did and went with the flow. I've been coming to a realization for a few weeks. I can't be a work hypocrite. I have to go to work and work harder than the rest. When someone uses me as a work horse, I have to learn to be grateful for the opportunity to shine. When the world sees what I do and sees that I do it for Christ, maybe they'll come to Him too. I need to always be ready. My opportunity to give someone the keys to Heaven could happen on a Thursday in the copy room. Will I be ready? I have to be. I want to be someone God uses to save lost souls. I hope I don't lose my job, but if I lose it for expressing my love for you, I will gladly accept losing it.
Dear Lord, please give me the patience to live meekly and to go ahead and allow people to give me their extra work. Give me the endurance to stick with it. Revive in me anything that has died and help me to progress in my faith. Jesus, help me shine for you. Please walk with me. Forgive me for every negative thought and every passing doubt.
