Humanity has for centuries been viewing the heavens - outer space - for "signs" or indicators meaningful to us. Nowadays it is no different and star-gazing is enhanced by more powerful optical telescopes on earth and in space, and radio-telescopes that can receive electromagnetic radiation outside the frequency range that our eyes can sense. Astronomy has uncovered some extraordinary objects in space such as supernovas, the explosion of stars that emit enormous amounts of energy, and they light the night sky when they happen. Without knowledge of astronomy or telescopes, multitudes of people view solar and lunar eclipses. A total lunar eclipse, or in biblical language, a "blood moon" is not uncommon, though they are not regularly spaced in time. Few were seen for the past few centuries but in the 2010s of the 21st century a cluster of them has occurred. This brings to mind Revelation 6:12 with its astronomical talk of total solar eclipses ("sun became black as sackcloth") and total lunar eclipses ("the full moon became like blood"). Additionally, there are meteor showers ("the stars of the sky fell to the earth"). In ancient times a star (kowkob in Hebrew, astra in Greek) was any point of light in the sky regardless of what it was. Besides what we call stars, the word included meteors, planets, comets, and had they been present, visible spacecraft in earth orbit.
The Vatican has an astronomical observatory in the Arizona desert, where the air is dry and the view of space is clear. It is a somewhat secluded place and was spooky to some investigative reporters lacking the preparatory protocol for a visit. Why does the Vatican have a level of interest in astronomy that leads them to operate their own observatory? The Vatican also has its own in-house astronomer. They are giving the often ignored parts of scripture that are astronomical more weight. As we saw in Eschatology Note # 2 from Revelation 12, the birthdate of Jesus is given in the time-clock of the stars. The most basic time and date standard is the zodiac of the heavens.
Global time standards nowadays are atomic clocks which are extremely accurate in ticking off the microseconds, yet the synchronization of them to calendar time that has been persisting through the centuries requires observations of events in the heavens. This alignment is accurate to about a second. The star-clock is still the absolute standard for time, and by it, we can determine which age we are in. Indeed, we are at the end of the age of Pisces, the age symbolized by end-to-end fish; the fish was a symbol theearly Christians used. When Moses returned from the mountain, he had the bull - the symbol of the age of Taurus - destroyed and put ram's horns in the tabernacle, a symbol of the age of Aries. We are now entering the age of Aquarius. Although New Agers talk about this, they did not originate it; its origin is prehistoric and the zodiac is assumed in scripture as the time standard.
The astronomy community has observed three strange objects in the heavens. What is strange about them is that their trajectories are not ballistic, the path an object takes when it is given initial motion but then travels, like a piano hammer after being struck by a key or a rocket at burnout, without its own source of propulsion. The latest of these objects of interest is labeled 3I/ATLAS and will travel around the sun to the far side from earth if it maintains its existing trajectory. But what has been seen of that trajectory thus far is that it is not ballistic; course adjustment appears to have occurred, and that could happen again as it approaches earth orbit. It is on a trajectory toward Mars.
The sixth scroll of Revelation 6 gives the picture of all social classes - patricians (including generals) and plebes (including slaves-employees), and not to exclude the "professional" class of equites - calling on the "rocks to fall on them" as given in popular translations. However, the resulting image is misleading. The Greek word for "fall" is "pipto" and can mean to "alight", or for Revelation 6, to go into and close tunnels in the rocks. This can include not only the expensive survival habitats of billionaires but also the vast underground networks in large urban areas, including subway tunnels, sewers, and infrastructure maintenance tunnels.
What pertains to spacecraft of the returning Messiah is that this response is made in fear, to hide from what is coming. How in Revelation 6 do the people of earth know they should fear the visible approaching Son of Man, that he has hostile intent? Where did this attitude toward his incoming appearance originate? We are not yet at the time in earth history when Jesus reappears and both the geopolitical and popular outlook is known, though it is not implausible that enough biblical eschatology will have been communicated at large so that when these events begin to coincide with eschatological content, the truth will become evident and people will respond accordingly. Arguments with atheists will become obsolete and Satan and his demonic ETs will be manifested. That which has been kept secret and hidden (or "occult") will be exposed and made manifest.
When will the return of the Son of Man be? Even he said that he did not know when he was here previously, though to return again under his own volition, he will need to know, and this understanding will occur in the interim. What else is Jesus learning in the time between advents? What is he doing? He said that he was going to prepare a place for his people. This could include the "new Jerusalem" which John the apostle measured as cubic, but it might also be new worlds with living conditions compatible with new, improved humans - new "earths" in the heavens. Science and engineering are now nearing a time when interstellar travel is becoming conceptually plausible. If the arrival of Jesus coincides with the operational birth of this new technology, and given that Jesus becomes leader of the true New World Order and will control it, then will only the people of God be fit to inherit the stars? With the new age of Aquarius dawning and technology reaching a stage of development that has eschatological implications, along with the social conditions of the world, is the return of Christ immanent?
