watched the blindside again, like the movie (except for the swearing). The mom's personality reminds me of my mothers minus the compassion. The lady's style/look (although not the features) & lifestyle, I gather, reminds me of someone else...
Really glad that story worked out. There are plently of others that don't, where those being helped, someone trying to reach out to them- where they just reject it & or even take advantage of it without much appreciation & or improvement. Does that mean we should never try or risk trying?
You just gotta do what's right, irregardless of what you get back, easier to say- that I know.
Just have to keep the self and it's self-centered desires- keep them dead, kill them. Focusing on the why of it all, the big picture. All these help to keep the motives clean. I say why not enjoy the journey, nothing wrong in that. But that can't be why we do it in the first place.
That's one difference between the world & God's kingdom, the world doesn't care much about motives, just the end result.
