"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them." Hebrews 6:10
Have you ever wonder whether or not God remembers or has a memory? I know it is a preposterous thought to even make mention that maybe God has forgotten something; whether it be a promise He made, a deed that you did or an offense that was inflicted, however, it is worth exploring just for honesty sake. You know I think often about many things but I am not sure I have paid much attention to whether or not I think God forgets. If my memory serves me right I have challenged Him on whether or not He even listens, but to no recollection do I recall myself asking God about whether or not His memory of things is rather on the small side.
The human mind has a very large capacity and it is able to store information so deep that we forget that it is there until something brings it back to remembrance. You know those memories of yourself when you were a child. What about the memories of those times when you tried to act cool but in the long run it just plain foolishness. Yeah, I remember those times more than I liked to admit, but they are there. Now it is not my intention to call to the forefront whether or not God has a bad memory but I’d thought it would be “good medicine” to figure out why so many times we forget that He does not forget about anything other than our sins if we confess them.
How many times in our lives do we question God? Are you there? Are you listening? Do you really care? What should I do with my life? Am I doing it correctly? God I do not care anymore what people think, but what do you think? God does it really matter? God! God! God! Yes, it sounds like a bunch of rambling but lets be honest we have all been there before and I hate to admit we will more than likely be there again. Aren’t we grateful that God can handle us humans, more than we can handle ourselves? (Will the back row please stand up and say AMEN!)
Look, most of the people on the earth are not copouts when it comes to matters that really affect them, yet when it comes to actually trusting God with it all; well lets just say we have a hard time trusting that He truly cares enough for us. We as humans have a hard time believing that God wants to be in every detail of our life because if He did He would remember fill in the blanks. Let me just stop here and state that I am grateful for the verse listed above because it actually brings peace to my heart that nothing has escaped God’s attention. Though there are times where I wonder, it comforts me to know that He is actually interested in who I am as a person, I mean He did create me right?
So, next time you are out and you are trying to honor God by honoring people and they give you a hard time or worse they don’t care, remember He does and He will honor you because He loves you and He has not forgotten what you do. May this bring joy to you on this day!
