  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In Light of The Church's First Pentecost

In thinking about when the Holy Spirit was poured out during the Feast of Pentecost, on the early Jerusalem believers, I wanted to share this passage from Psalm 119:31-32...“I have clung to your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame. I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart.”

Brothers and sisters, we know that Christ came into the world to offer salvation to those who know full well that, on their own, they cannot keep the commandments with all their hearts. When, then, can we? It is when we receive and walk with Christ. It is then that He enlarges our hearts, through the Holy Spirit, to live in communion with Him; it is then that we can say with the Apostle Paul, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God"! (Romans 1:16).
