Christ Is Our Competence.

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant,” (2 Corinthians 3:5-6).

In many job-interviews I had attended, there is one question that is always asked, “What makes you the right fit for this position?” Have we ever thought, what makes us competent to be “who we are?” in a combined role of our “SELF” as a person. This “Ahila” that I am! I could go on to say, my genetic, my experiences, my family, my education…… but it all seems to have gaps here and there. Nothing seems to fully help with everything that I am. But here I declare, “my sufficiency is from God” I pronounce Christ is my competence, He is my confidence.

Paul had a very good Identity than many of us, very well educated from best universities, born with a great heritage, author of a big chunk of Bible. Now, he declares that his sufficiency is from God, and how privileged I am to say the same, my competence is from Christ.

Now, to you my friend, you with a(n),

Condemned motherhood,

Failed marriage,

Broken family,

Insignificant heritage,

Incompetent life,

Inconsequential friendships……

You, who is abused, shamed, and full of guilt. Let me pronounce, CHRIST is your sufficiency. Christ is your competence. Christ is your confidence. He alone is your freedom. Freedom that no one can steal or rob. Freedom that Paul experienced. Freedom that is at your hand. Now, just take Him, treasure Him, and fully be free in Him.

Let me add, Paul’s focus here was to assert his identity as a minister of God. So, my friend, after you stand firm in Christ-your competence, spread your story and become His ambassador. Never let anyone question your worthiness to be His servant. It is Christ, who makes you worthy.

Finally, if you think anything that makes you worthy other than Christ, reexamine! What else stays forever? What (Who) else is really sufficient?
