  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It must have been a while since I posted last after my dramatic exit! Ah, the baby is walking and I'm more relaxed, but still feeling some pressure. Anyway, I read this: VIS-Press releases I think this might not be described quite right, it is rather complex... and a comples thought...

Is there anything more to say? The words will come, but what good are they? I am here, unless God proves that He desires otherwise. This is part of the lesson of basic gratitude. Part of the message of St. Thomas Aquinas. I don't wonder so much why he stopped writing.

http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0018/001832/183281e.pdf UNESCO: International guidelines on sexuality education There's been some things brought up about the danger of this document, so, if we are under it, I have some recommendations for its benign implementation. First, make sure that the...

My friend is asking that donations for her memorial go to a particular library. In line with this intention, I'd like to recommend a government grand program designed to help libraries become more accessible, such as delivery, internet directory, and some other type of paper access (as many...

Catholic college faces lawsuit over contraceptives - Washington Times It's obviously religious discrimination, because the abortion/contraception side of the argument isn't even logically consistent, just politically and culturally correct.

Cardinal Newman Society Sex. Killing people. Pro-aborts even admit that it is true that it is about sex and killing people, and that pro-life person's even have the right assert such. But, then, stuff like this happens when the government imposes a totalitarian view that violates not just...

I have not one, but two babies! The three year old not being considered a baby anymore seem peculiar, but that's for real. I'm holding a two year old right now! He's tired from being outside. He wants to cuddle and listen to music.

Britain's Jewish-School Ruling: Who Decides Who Is a Jew? - TIME Why do decisions like this always seem like a place for the court system to cause the society to become enraged and far from mankind. I'm offended, of all the people who can determine who is a Jew, the UK atheist government has...

So, the problem in Pakistan is blasphemy laws. Interesting, if any western country had blasphemy laws, the Koran would be abolished because it's based on blasphemy of Christianity. The point here is not the religion itself, but that countries should not enact laws that prevent reasonable...

After Cardinal Rigali released his recent message, I had hoped we see substantial concessions made on the health care front. The lack of dignified access to health care is an affront to God, and is disobedience to His Word. We see the significant unrest caused by this disobedience ever more in...

I ran into a case of a person who was so focused on what divides us that they failed to see what unites us. "Is this government on?" This to me is like accusing the whole government of being anti-family or even merely not pro-family. Now, tell me, what do you think of that?

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/26/business/26corner.html?_r=1&em This is a typical thought provoking article by a radical. What she's saying isn't true of course, and its inflammatory sexism... If you want to talk about the feminine genius, it can quickly be established that even in the...

You see, if there was a conservative fiefdom ground level founding, it would control a third of the world or so, by only insisting on a few minimal issues, a counter balance to that exerted by all the totalitarian regimes. I think the temptation is to become uninvolved in world affairs, but...

If you had 'elected' me ;) I would have given the agency a sweeping scope, and funded it to press charges that don't have the fiduciary incentive to otherwise get good lawyers, as well as lobby for certain regulation controls. I would not give it the authority to regulate directly, but would...

So what's up with Iran? Doesn't look good over there. I don't know what the reformist platform exactly is, but a lot of the time movements like this are Utopian socialist fantasy revolutions, and don't actually have popular support, but do have popular 'force.' I am not saying that this is...
