Danish Inheritance

Blog details

When I was born in 1970, I inherited both an English and a Danish identity. I am 75% white English male and a 25% white Danish male. My mother's mother married a young English soldier in Viborg, Denmark, just after the Second World War and they moved back to his hometown in the north of England, where they settled and had two children. I lived very close to my Danish grandmother and it was from her that I developed a sense of Danish identity. Yet, I cannot speak or read Danish and I have never been to Denmark. I have never connected with any of my extended family in Denmark.

In this safe space on Christian Forums, I want to encourage other members to explore their true identity in Christ by sharing my developing story. I believe that God wants me to deepen my fellowship with His Son, Jesus, through embracing my Danish inheritance so that I can connect with Danish Christians in Denmark and possibly help spread the Good News there.
